Was just browsing looking for a new life insurance provider and found this gem for new parents. If you pass away before your child turns 1 then Tesco will provide £10K per parent.
Official Offer Below ----------------------------
£10,000 of life cover for free until your child's first birthday. Our way of helping you think about your life insurance needs when you have a new addition to the family
£10,000 of life cover, if you die on or before your child's first birthday – that's £20,000 per child if both parents apply
Absolutely free - no catch or auto-renewal, just think about us when you consider your life cover needs
Tesco Bank Free Parent Life Cover is provided by Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited
More details ----------------------
You get £10,000 free life cover, which will pay out if you die on or before your child's 1st birthday.
Why do we offer this for free? Simple. We want to help you at a time when you need it most and hope that you'll start to think about your life insurance needs.
Both parents can apply and, if you've got your hands more than full with two (or more) babies under one year old, you can both apply for a policy for each child.
And the best part of this cover is, it's absolutely free. We don't take your bank or card details.
You're only covered for £10,000 and up until your baby's first birthday. But it's a good starting point when you're thinking about the cover you might need to protect your loved ones. You can cancel this policy at anytime but there is no cash in value.
Please make sure you check the policy documents before applying.

Post office is 50% more than tesco. I think it's a no brainer the tesco deal is cold

Terms also indicate parents aged 18-66, so Mick Jagger is out of luck!

Got a few of these free policies to run alongside my proper life insurances. The Post Office offer is MUCH better tho. Neither are a true alternative to proper life insurance however, more of a bonus sum if the kids are still young.

And the Post Office is also an Aviva product, so you can't have that and the Tesco Bank offer (or rather you can, but Aviva would only pay out on one of them).

That's like saying it's a string you need a car to have car insurance. It's "Life Insurance for Parents".
No one is tricking you.

Cold post office is 15000 per parent and 12 months cover for kids upto 4.
I find the notion of someone giving you other people's money for events out of your control, quite strange... But this will still get hot anyway :smirk:
