Magic plan is free to download from the app store and it's fantastic. Auto CAD by using your camera on your phone to identify the corners of your room and it will auto create a CAD of your room, plenty of free features to use so upgrade is not required.
Magicplan will also measure the height of your room by simply using your camera to identify the floor and ceiling. It's genius!

I think this may be a feature you have to pay for, I just screenshot and print.

Just tried it - it's really good, works really well! The camera measurements aren't perfect but it's really close, got most measurements correct to within an inch.

Looks ok but can't help thinking that LibreCAD and a tape measure is probably easier than messing around with a phone

Thanks for the librecad tip, just downloaded it and had a go. I can say Magicplan is definitely much easier and user friendly. With a minute or two you can have a full floor plan completed including measurements, doorways windows and furniture.
