On further investigation, it seems the table of contents works fine on my Kindle Paperwhite (using the 'go to' feature), but does not appear on my Kindle for iPad app. Hope this clarification helps if you were thinking of getting this.

How about contacting Amazon and asking them to add a table of contents? Seems like quite an oversight on their part.

That's a good point, and can't argue for free. I'll search out the books I'm interested in and bookmark the first pages. Need to keep the list handy for years to come, so I know what I've bought ... ;-)
