I'll never forget the panics I used to go through when I heard digging outside my dungeon.
I had to build those doors and get my minions to reinforce the walls but eventually the heroes would burst through.
Hardly used the first person view to control my imps. What was the benefit of that ?
One of the best games of all time and DK2 was even better!

Yep, but while they have a similar theme, the gameplay is very different from Dungeon Keeper.

Creatures would often charge blindly at the enemy, send them against some obstacles and cannons and you could loose the entire army in seconds. With well controlled wizard or archer you could cause havoc by picking up enemies one by one and dodging projectiles. I also used it often for exploration.
On the downside there's never enough time to micromanage creatures and expand the dungeon.

I fear that replaying this would ruin my great memories of the game!
It's not just the imps you could first person control. You could first person control any creatures. It would allow you to use their specials and attacks. If you were an imp you were able to dig and capture land in first person or attack people with your pick axe.

Cracking game, and for free even better. I don't think i'd be paying full price at £4.65 for a game that's 19 years old though. Who are they kidding?

That's... definitely compatible with this downloaded version? (Just it talks about the original install media/etc... I'm not at home to try it or I'd try it :stuck_out_tongue:). Does it play nice with existing saves too?
Man. The hours I pumped into this game when I was a kid. DK2 was so good as well. Remember being hyped a the DK3 teaser trailer on the DK2 disc. Still waiting for it to be honest.

In theory it just needs some files from the original DK, it has its own executable. No idea about saved games

I don't seem to be able to get the hi-res addon to work with the Origin downloaded version... there is no 'keeper' folder that it is looking for, just the main 'Dungeon Keeper' folder. Installer states it cannot find the required files.
