I take your point but most countries involve paying for a TV licence to view so not really free. I agree that it is not really free on BT but I had BT for my broadband before they won the football rights to the Premier League and Champions League.

Hopefully BT will not regain the rights to it when their contract ends due to the low viewing figures they're getting.

But you're paying for a BT service such as broadband. Others do not get it free as such.

Because the champions league is practically free all the time in every country but the UK (Ireland, Spain, Portugal etc)

Do you have a chromecast? Back when I was a subscriber I was able to get the tablet to stream to the TV this way.
Although this was before the change so I don't know if they've gimped it now.

For me with my broadband (not sure if this is everyone, you know how these 'deals' work these days) , I get BT Sports 1 only free on a tablet/phone etc, but I would have to pay £5-17 p/m for the other channels to view on the Tele. So for a skin flint like me, I tend to watch out for these Showcase games to assist with my old man's failing eyesight! I suspect these free games will diminish over the coming months, freebies are to entice you in to Pay TV yeah? To be fair, the app works great on my tablet, very clear and no buffering, but as mentioned, it doesn't cover all the games.

Only if you have BT broadband, even then I think they changed it some time ago depending on the package e.g. BT TV vs just broadband.

I tried to watch the Leicester Champions League game that was 'free' a few weeks back on their BT website but it would only let me play if I subscribed!
