Went Tesco yesterday to see a small fruit stand with a big notice saying every child could have a free piece of fruit to eat, only one per child. Choice of banana, tangerine or apple.
Found it so nice that a last something healthy is being given away - a great way to get kids to eat fruit and stop nagging parents for a snack going around the store.
For once Tesco did something right (Unlike the price of a bag of marshmellows - large yes but £4 what the hell?????)

If you pay 99p for a huge bag then you've been robbed,I only pay 10p at Tesco, and they replace it when it gets a hole in it :stuck_out_tongue:

OMG you've pierced the veil of marketing! we're through the looking glass people! why does your cynical comment make any difference to someone getting some free fruit whilst they shop?

So you'll go back to Tesco - Tesco's job done for a small piece of fruit. Got to say great marketing - promote the person who thought of it ( not a deal though- some folks are easily bought ).

You obviously have some solid scientific proof that GM is any less good for you than non GM? because I have a sneaking suspicion you don't quite understand what GM means

Old news, also, tesco are not doing this out of the good of their heart, they want you to bring your kids shopping with you, especially to tescos. Basically they're training the next generation of shoppers, and making sure they go nowhere else but tesco.

And yes, they have been doing it for a while, it's great to keep my 3 quiet for a bit but i'm getting rather annoyed with the lazy parents leaving banana skins in trolleys and just putting them back.

I voted hot by the way, and I made a comment, this is the comment section isn't it? or is it the 'insult other people section'? Are you this sarcastic in real life? or only behind the protection of a monitor.

Good question. The Tesco team are constant followers of this site as well as all forms of social media.

Sounds ominous. Why would he need protection?
It's not like he abused you, he just said of course it's a marketing ploy but so what if you intend using Tesco anyway. Woe betide anyone saying that to you in real life!

My first comment was that, just a comment, an obvious one, but a comment, it wasn't insulting, or condescending to anyone. My second comment was directed at someone who pointed out in a rather insulting and condescending manner that my first comment was obvious. If he/she is not mentally disturbed I'm sure he/she will not address anyone in that manner in real life otherwise he'll definitely be sectioned. Now my third comment is for you Mr/Mrs intellectual, the POINT of my second comment was to highlight the fact that he/she was being unrealistic by acting that way behind a monitor and not realising he was being rude. If I had known Mr/Mrs intellectual that hotukdeals had somehow become hotukintellectuals I would never have made a comment, on the contrary I would delete the app off my phone and never download it again. You see, I consider myself normal, not above anyone else.

It looks like if someone says something obvious the 'intellectuals' (keyboard warriors) of our little hotukdeals community feel like their intelligence has been attacked/insulted on a personal level, and they feel the need to display their intelligence, no, they feel compelled to showcase their intelligence by insulting said person who has the nerve to make an obvious comment in their high and mighty intellectual presence. You guys need to get out more often.

I walked into my local Tesco and saw the so called "fresh fruit" in a big basket, looked like it can be recovered from the skip behind the store the night before!

Shouldn't the kids not eat the apple until it has been washed? So how would they snack on it while parents shop?
