I'm not so sure that's a good idea. Don't get me wrong, there are hell of a lot of titles in the PlayStation Now catalogue, I'm just not sure £12.99 a month is a justifiable amount for the service.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

To be honest I want to check gameplay personally, definetly not going to sign up there are a few games I was interested in so I'm checking them out lol freebies !! Lol

Sony really are jokers these days, £12.99 would probably buy all the ps1 games I was into 20 years ago.

I can see the appeal if you never had a PS3 (/PS4), and wanted to give some of the exclusives you missed a whirl (the Uncharteds, the Last of Us etc.).

Of course, you could buy a 2nd hand PS3 and those games off of ebay, then probably sell it all for about the same price as you paid when you're done...

How fast a connection do you need? Mine is supposed to be about 1.5mb/sec but not sure that's good enough. I remember onlive running like crap.

Do you need a subscription to play the rent only titles? I'd love to play Metal Gear Solid 4 but the rent prices for it are steep and I wouldn't bother if I had to do a subscription on top.

Some nice titles on it, going to try and burn through Heavy Rain and The Last of Us on a trial. Looks like it would be worth it to get buy a month subscription now and again.

For the price of one years rental you could buy a slim ps3 and purchase all the games that probably interest you.

it's too dear if youre already paying for plus. especially considering I've got most of the games I'd want to play on Ps3 free through plus or super cheap on sales/physical.

If the streaming was really smooth and it had a full back catalog including ps2 and ps1 games it would be worth it. But unfortunately it doesn't really work that well and I'm on fibre optic

I guess this means it's finally possible to play Spyro and Crash Bandicoot legally on PC. Cool. :smiley:

It's expensive per month, but seems to have double that of Nvidia for shield plus lots of playstation exclusive stuff which is the real clincher.

They just need to bring proper hardware accelerated emulation to PC. It's like they are skipping around the issue by giving the PC a streaming service (which never works flawlessly). I can understand why they have gone the streaming route though as it means little Jimmy can play his PS3 games on his hand me down laptop or old desktop PC. Sony needs to offer a better option for people who own some reasonable PC hardware if they want to compete with Microsofts universal platform.

Good service, and I love the idea of it, but it's far too expensive. If it was cheaper (say £5-8 p/m) I could see parents subscribing to allow their kids to play lots of games without much outlay, but otherwise serious gamers with money to burn are likely playing PS4 games or have kept their PS3

Personally I wouldn't mind it being included in a slightly more expensive PS+. Surely increasing PS+ by say £1/2 a month or £10/20 a year more would generate far more money for Sony than current subs at £13 p/m, and would give the PS+ subscribers more value for money - £50-60 per year for Instant game collection, cloud saves, online play and PS Now sounds a fantastic deal.

Interesting concept, a little on the steep side price-wise imo, when you consider PS+ and Xbox Live are £40.00 per year (if you don't buy them discounted).I can see you get a great library of games to play, but they are older ones now.

Now, what PS3 game to go for that I haven't played yet ...
