Yet today I received the following!
I am writing in response to your comments regarding our free car wash promotion.

I understand a friend of yours has been selected to receive a free car wash voucher at a participating Tesco store but you have not. As a long standing member, you are disappointed not to have been offered this promotion.

I am very sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction and have taken the opportunity to look in the matter. The free car wash is a trial offer for both the AA and Tesco, if both businesses find that this is beneficial for their customers and feasible, we may look to expand on this in the future. However, as it is a brand new partnership, Tesco have selected a few participating stores and we have selected members close to those stores to receive the voucher.

Unfortunately, your closes participating store is 38 miles away and therefore, you would not have been selected for this particular offer. I am sorry for any disappointment caused however, as this partnership between the AA and Tesco is new and still under development, it was not feasible to make the free car wash voucher available to all customers at all Tesco stores therefore, a business decision was made by both Tesco and the AA to trial it with a selected few. I am unable to uphold your complaint but I am very sorry for any disappointment caused.

I trust I have explained out position, I will now make arrangements to close my file but thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

I contacted the AA online, and said that I have been an AA member for many years and have AA Gold membership, but the reply was that they are only sending out emails with the free car wash to 'selected members'. I would have thought all Gold members should be rewarded for their long loyalty. It doesnt make you feel valued not to be included in the offer.

Any one know what RAC or Green Flag breakdown is like - may wash my hands of the AA when renewal is due !!!!!!!!!1

There isn't a link to the offer, as it arrives to your email, if you're a member. I didn't put the link up there, someone ( mods?) has kindly added it for me, that takes you to the AA to become a member

Got the email now...
Treat your car to a little TLC with a free Bronze car wash with Waves and Tesco Hand Car Wash. Members will receive an exterior jet wash using Autoglym products. The car is hand dried and the external glass is polished; the car is finished with tyre shine. Just find a TESCO WAVES car wash, Show them the EMail and your AA Card,

I reckon so, can't think if I have a card/where it would be, as I installed the app too. The app is the new/ version of, the card, surely? I guess I'l be ok, as I go to them anyway, but how, otherwise would you have the email from AA? and they'll be being re-imbursed from AA anyway I guess? Just thought- I had to input my AA number into the app when I installed, so, effectively, its a card, isn't it?

I just happened to spot it this morning in my emails. All it says it show the email with my AA card. It's a bronze wash, I usually have the platinum which is 50 quid, (only cos I leave it too long inbetween, lol) so going off that, it's still a decent wash I'll be getting. Maybe check your spam? If it helps, I joined the AA this year. Without checking, can't remember what membership I've got, but I've paid them £17.50, if that helps.
