"9.2. As a User of the Services, you understand and acknowledge that your Content will be stored on other Users’ computing devices, including but not limited to handheld devices, PCs and servers."

This seems quite dodgy, using p2p and other people's networks and drive space and expecting you to host other documents too. No one needs this. There are reputable alternatives.

I'll stick with my multiple free Mega accounts which give me more than 100Gb and zero knowledge encryption.

I thought of Pied Piper the moment they described the concept!

Looking at the T'&Cs
They do not actually own the computer servers etc that your data is being stored on, but are using any spare storage that they can get their hands on.
Because of this I would STRONGLY advise that you do not use them for any personal information, family pics etc

Very dubious about these 'smaller' and 'new' cloud services. If they go bust or choose to go rouge with data, the impression that they arent as 'safe' as the main ones such as Google, Microsoft and Apple.

i use my 50gb box account mainly, but free is free i suppose :smiley:

There is an android app now, and there is the option to delete from device but not from cloud

Couldn't there be a potential risk if some random user across the world was into, shall we say, the wrong type of pRon? Wouldn't you potentially be exposin yourself to having it on your HDD, even if it is clusterd and encrypted?

One of the downsides of this service is that you have to download their app in order to use it - you can't just upload files through a web interface.

This is because it's not a centralised storage service, rather it's in the p2p model, and your files are encrypted and spread across perhaps dozens of different users' computers.

I think you also have to give up some of your hdd space in return, to store other people's files. However, I'm not sure whether it has to be equal to the 100gb you're getting or only equal to what you have used up.

Are they trustworthy with personal docs?
