Cheers I'm dl now, it's a shame they don't demo most games as I remember the PS1 days almost every game had a demo to try before buying. Ah well at least I can see what this one's like.

Played for 10 minutes and uninstalled. Looks amazing but ( after years and years of playing them) like most fps nowadays they are all the same with a little twist or sizzle to sell. But that's the great things about demos! Try before you buy.

Ah, memories of a wasted youth and weak wrists. Oh and playing Doom was great too.
Shame it wont run on Windows 7 or 10.

Am I missing something; doesn't appear to be free on Steam?
:edit:
Ah, the innocuous demo button.

Lol posted zero deals in 8 years- and dare to make negative comments about other people's deals. That must be a record high in leeching and ignorance.

It's not a deal. It's a Freebie.

And FYI, I'm running 6600k, 16GB with a R9 390 with details set to Ultra (FSAA on) and it runs buttery smooth. They really did well with this game!

Completely agree - more studios/publishers need to release demos that allow us to see how the game is or how it runs on our systems. Now it's more of a gamble, if it works it works, if it doesn't, it doesn't, and if it's good it's good, if not you're SOL.

Runs at a steady 60fps on high/ultra settings with vsync on. No dips. The game is optimised really well and runs great.
No performance issues whatsoever.

Runs totally fine here at 60fps with 8GB, GTX 970 and i5 3570k

Another thing.... 8Gb is borderline. I had 8Gb RAM but couldn't get this running reliably until I borrowed an extra 2gb from an old machine. Closing unnecessary process, programmes etc didn't improve things. The extra RAM fixed it so I ended up buying 8gb and putting the old 2gb back in the garage. Doom does not crash at all now with 16gb.
Others have found 8gb is ok though so it varies.
