We spoke with Xbox Support if anyone could change their region and redeem the Games with Gold in Japan and they said:

"Yes, you can redeem the games with Gold when you change your marketplace in Japan and this is not considered as Marketplace Theft since you have the Gold subscription on your account. Yes. No problem. I can assure you, you are not doing anything wrong my friend."

I put the guide together on here about buying games from other regions (which isnt against the MDS T&C's). Getting free games via GWG from other regions is actually against their T&C's & it could result in the ban hammer. There was a thread with the T&C snippets & MS conversions posted on here a few years ago with all the info in.

Change your region on the website:-

Then get the game- no messing with the console.

Just done it and worked find. Just use Google Chrome or whatever to translate.

The reason they were banned on the 360 is because it is a region-locked console. The Xbox One was sold as a region-free console. Hence legally being allowed to import, download and purchase games from anywhere in the world. When you log into your xbox.com account, you can even see how much you have in each of your used Country's "wallets". For example I have $2.56 left in my Singapore wallet, £3.00 in my UK one, $7.01 in my US one and 4RU in my Russian wallet.

Apparently changing region to get one of the FREE games with gold that you shouldn't get in your region is one of the things Microsoft DO ban you for.
Hardly worth the risk for 'Slash dash', whatever that is.
