We do this every year and it's a fab free day out for the family.
I've popped a link in post 1 so you can find your local / nearest farm.
The vast majority are free although a few do charge a small admission fee.
Open Farm Sunday is the farming industry’s annual open day. A day when hundreds of farmers all over the country welcome visitors onto their farms to discover the world of farming.
Visit a farm on Open Farm Sunday on 5th June 2016 and discover the world of farming. Find out about the story behind our food and how farming affects our everyday lives.
Each Open Farm Sunday event is unique. Activities range from machinery displays, tractor and trailer rides, through to demonstrations, nature walks and more!
Open Farm Sunday, managed by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), is one of the farming industry’s biggest success stories. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, over 1000 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed people onto their farm for one Sunday each year. It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to discover at first hand what it means to be a farmer and the fabulous work they do producing our food and managing the countryside.

Could potentially visit three farms near me, as one is open on Saturday 4th June, some on the Sunday (5th June) and another is on Sunday 19th June
Love this, we go every year, thanks for posting reminder (I'd forgotten all about it again)!

I hope so. I do prefer to plan ahead. Might just ring the place up and see if they plan on doing anything again this year.

I'm thinking not everyone is signed up yet wiggy; there's one we've been to 3 out of the last 4 years and that one isn't signed up yet. Probably worth checking in a week or so.

Seems to be way way less farms taking part this year :disappointed: i live near many farms, several which took part last year. We went to Red Bank farm. Closest now is about 60 miles away

We visited Tiptree Jam factory last year, it was great, lots of tractors, stalls of different food and drink and a ride around the factory explaining the history etc, absolutely loved it! Thanks for posting, here's to finding somewhere else for a lovely day out!
