Nice one! Thought I was going to have to watch the final in the pub. Some prefer that I know, and I can understand that as I was married once with young kids and pets, and any excuse! But these days a few tinnies on my own or with a mate in the house, not only cheaper, but more enjoyable for me, can watch and listen to the match better and not have to wait 15 minutes to be served while being shoved about.

I always get strange looks when internationals come around because I feel exactly the same way, I want to hear the commentary, and be by myself to solely focus on the game haha.

Have to agree...the last time i ventured out to the pub to watch the football we were rudely interrupted just as the game was kicking off by a rather worse for ware chap who claimed to know Dynamo the magician who was his cousin apparently (this was explained MANY times) to which point he proceeded to demonstrate some rather poor magic tricks (none went well) performed an inch from my face including the odd splatter of saliva and then asked for some money as his mum was apparently in hospital with a terminal illness. Anyone for the pub??

Used to love going with mates to the pub to watch footie, I stay at home now all the time since becoming a full time dad. I've never drank or smoked and it made me realise how much more relaxing it is been home nice and cozy!

I wonder if this has anything to do with UEFA admitting the other week that they had a massive mistake issuing the rights of the champions league/Europa league to Bt Sports in the first place as there is not the user base on BT Sports and the viewing figures are massively down this season compared to years gone by, even hinted that BY Soorts will not get the rights in 2 years time when they are next up for renewal!!
trick23 to spaceman051
13 May 162#32
hopefully
bt barely advertise what matches are on showcase so no surprise their viewing figures are so low.
plus itv would always have made sure they put the english clubs on as they got further in the tournament whereas it seems bt actively made sure the english clubs werent on the free station
rossco1874
13 May 163#33
suck it up. Scottish teams also had to play second fiddle to English teams on stv due to its deciding to put English teams on terrestrial channel meaning only those with sky sports could watch the Scottish teams.

That's because Scottish football SUCKS.

correct however. Scottish TV should show Scottish teams over English ones on terrestrial TV.

all major events have to free. so if someone like sky bought all the rights to the euros they would have to show the final for everyone.
For anyone with a satellite dish pointed at/motorised on Astra 19E you can also watch it free on Sport 1 Germany - 12.480V Frequency 27500 Symbol 3/4 FEC

The live YouTube feed for the Europa League Final was a measly 854x480 - definitely not even HD. It's likely the Champions League Final will also only be SD on YouTube - I guess BT Sport are so "poor" they couldn't afford to give away the extra pixels for free...
