The Food of the Gods and How It Came to Earth is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, first published in 1904. Wells called it "a fantasia on the change of scale in human affairs. . . . I had hit upon [the idea] while working out the possibilities of the near future in a book of speculations called Anticipations (1901)." There have been various B-movie adaptations. The novel is about a group of scientists who invent a food that accelerates the growth of children and turns them into giants when they become adults.

Incidently FinderOfDeals post yesterday with exception of Nocturne by Frank Swinnerton which only has an introduction by H.G Wells was effectively a duplicated post with all the books I've listed by Wells over the last few days, hence most treated as spam duplicated post . I take it you managed to overlook that it was a duplicate post and the fact that the book was not written by Wells. :laughing:

You seem to be upset that someone is getting virtual "heat" on their posts. Regardless of how they are getting them, whether it's copy/pasted or authentic research to find free books - OP is doing a good job. I speak for myself here, but I enjoyed most of the Wells books at some point in the past, so seeing them listed here is great.
If your problem is that OP is duplicating them, then the Mods will take the post down and the HUKD community will cold vote in the long run. This isn't the case however, as I've found these posts very useful as have many other people. My advice, just relax and let the universe dictate what happens. If it really really bothers you just ignore the post instead of injecting your negativity into it.
It kind of reminds me of football thugs. They will bicker and banter and judge the players skills, but they fail to realise that they don't have the skills to compete on the field themselves, nor any control over the game. They might as well not attend and the outcome will have been the same. Like I said, just relax and let things fall into place themselves, there's no need for negativity.

Nocturne has an introduction by H.G. Wells and the book was written by Frank Swinnerton.
It's an excellent book and if you read my original post I actually said that. If you hadn't included it in your post as it was the only book in your list not posted this week , your post would have been deleted .That's it now I have no wish to discuss further with either you or flimbo73 on the validity of my posts to this group. You might like to note, the reason why I linked them all together, is because it's easier, than taking them 2 by 2 no matter the date they came out. One link does the job of many. Plus, I stated what was available. Unlike yours, the direct link I give, adds them automatically, since they're free, and will remove them again if or when they're not.
As for Nocturne, it's mentioned because, if you read as much as you say you do, you'd notice that "H. G. (Herbert George) Wells (Introduction)" is part of that book! Hence, why stuck it in there, and why Amazon's own search engine brings it up!
No need to get sore over it. If you've got such a problem with it, take it up with the mods. I was just trying to help the end user and bring it all together, not steal anyone's thunder! People do it with video games all the time on here, and no-one cries about it.
EDIT: I've personally asked the mods to go over my post and for them to decide if it's a double post. I'm taking no part in a flame war!

The Sea Lady is a fantasy novel written by H. G. Wells that has some of the aspects of a fable. It was serialized from July to December 1901 in Pearson's Magazine before being published as a volume by Methuen. The inspiration for the novel was Wells's glimpse of May Nisbet, the daughter of the Times drama critic, in a bathing suit, when she came to visit at Sandgate, Wells having agreed to pay her school fees after her father's death.
