I heard there's a pipe & slippers convention the following week, that might cheer you up.

If you like your fast cars - the Supercar Event at the Top Gear test track (Dunsfold Park near Guildford) is good fun - if you donate £30 to charity, you can get a few laps in the passenger seat of a supercar. I got a ride in a 911 GT3 RS which was pretty epic and all for a good cause too: http://thesupercarevent.com/
Toffs driving daddy's car in a gumball rip off, doesnt interest me. Seeing beautiful cars with advertising all over them, doesn't look good either. If you go to there web site, it seems they are desperate for girls to attend (very sad to beg for beautiful girls).

Least gumball is charity..... I'm all for days like these, but not when it comes to begging people to come etc. I'll end up being an up market chav fest.
No thanks.

Totally agree. When people are begging for girls to attend an event.

It appears to be during the same day as Pride Trafalgar Square. So ...good luck with driving through that.

Thank you for the information. I will now know to avoid central London on that day!

where is best to park as the only place i have parked before is the West Orchards/Ikea and that meant driving on the Ring Road which will be closed.

Not sure to be honest. I went a couple of years back and parked near the excellent motor museum (also free). A great weekend out I must say.

Best free place to park will be war memorial park and there is a park and ride bus. All the other areas just outside the ring road are not too good for street parking as most require permits.
It is still possible to get into the city centre car parks by going in 'under' the ring road.

Seftonblake I think we are on the same wavelength.I feel guilty seeing beautiful girls on their own with advertising all over them and they are trying to smile, why are they doing this? by the way if they asked
men to join in i think would be more equal and i would be in the front of that queue.

This is for everyone who is too poor to afford Gumball. Gumball costs 40k to enter for one car and two people.
Half of it goes to charity, and a lot of the rest is to organise the events at each stop and pay for hotels.

It's not in London, but a good free event is the Brighton Speed Trails in September - http://www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk/brightonspeedtrials.php
