The store shows monthly and three monthly membership options, along with virtual currency available for real cash.
I'm not sure what you get if you don't pay, but this kind of business model puts me off right at the start!

Yes! About time haha loved it when it first came out and never bothered with the PS3/4 version due to working. Now I'm a stay at home dad I'll try this!

From a brief look it seems limited as hell totally free (no trading or voice chat). If you pay £5 for premium stuff you become a "premium" member with fewer limitations.
Looking at the full list of perks though it looks like you'd really need to subscribe to get the maximum from this game.
Never played it though, so feel free to correct me.

Fire, Gadgets, Ice, Mental, Nature and Sorcery Power sets are Free.
A player can get their Combat Rating to 88 without purchasing any Episode content.
