How to redeem Day One 2 for iPhone and iPad
1) Download the official Apple Store app in the App Store.
2) Launch the Apple Store app on your iOS device.
3) Tap the Featured tab at the bottom.
4) Scroll halfway through until you see the free Day One 2 offer right bellow the section listing featured accessories for the iPhone 6s, and tap it.
5) On the next screen, tap the green Download now for free button.
6) A message pops up, saying you’ll be taken to the App Store to redeem your free app.
Tap Continue to confirm the action.
7) Enter the password for your Apple ID account and tap OK to continue.
8) Tap the Redeem button to grab the app.

I can't see where they are charging for storage? And it's for sync. If they cease to exist tomorrow, you have all your data on your phone. Sync is only for backup and to sync between devices.

I have heard their reasons. I don't buy into them though. Get enough people dependant on the storage and then £££.
More importantly though what happens when the company ceases to exist?

A lot of features existing users might like but be aware if you upgrade to this then the desktop app isn't compatible meaning an ££ upgrade there.
I've grabbed it but I'm not installing because of the above.

One big issue with this app is the syncing. You have to use their servers. In the first version you could sync with Dropbox or iCloud and for some unknown crazy reason now they force you to upload all your stuff to them!
The first version was outstanding. This one. Not so sure.

They've already stated that this was for them to be able to add additional features to the app quickly and reliably. Their security is as good as iCloud or Dropbox. And they will introduce private key encryption in the next update which will make it even more secure than the first version ever was!

It's a photo diary/journal
You can keep a little story of adventures you go on and add pictures, GPS locations, heath app stats and all sorts.
