Just looking at mobile deals and what now and all of a sudden... i remembered this old gem! We used to use this at school!
1. it got a free text message to a mate
2. It was cheaper and easier than training a pigeon
3. Because of reasons.
Okay, so it's not going to be the smoothest way of getting a text message across, but it does allow you to send a text message for free, if for whatever reason you have no text allowance/calls left :/
We used to use this to tell people things we could probably shout to them across the classroom :D Like "Want to buy a push pop? "I Got Freddos for 15p, C U @ Lunch m8"

I know! Tested it and it's still going strong! It used to take about half hour to get the text

I use this when roaming sometimes as it's cheaper to send a free sms using wifi than activate £3 a day euro traveller on Vodafone

I was thinking the same! I used it in Europe last year to text my wife who then sent replies directly to my phone. Still serves a purpose!

My mom is still using her Sharp GX30,so got no whatsapp.
I can use cbfsms.com on my smartfone (via free caffe nero, starbucks, shopping ctr etc. wifi) to sms her my whereabouts now, rather than using my calling credit.
