For those that are saying it didn't work, it's likely that it did. Below where it says how many GB you have, click "Update storage" and it should show you that you have 2 GB more.

Actually I figured out what everyone was talking about and I can confirm that my drive space has been increased. Basically I was looking for this button on the google drive, what everyone else is talking about is actually a "link" in the text at the bottom of the page where it says you have finished making all the changes. If you click on this link it shows that your space has increased. Google drive I think takes some time refresh this new space, it was showing 15GB yesterday but I checked this morning and it had increased to 17GB.

I don't even see the "Update Storage" button everyone is mentioning, I see the button to "Upgrade Storage" is that the one?

Check you storage online after doing the security checkup and you'll see the 17gb. The app on iOS is still showing 15gb for now.

Thanks, very useful as was approaching my limit, heat added. For those using this primarily as a backup of photos taken on phone (or anything else), it's also worth considering opening a Flickr account. Can set app on your phone to automatically upload, either on or of wifi, and storage is much bigger. You can set the account to private too, so your pics aren't out there for all to see, unless you want them to be.

Mine says "using 2.6GB of 17GB (15%). It didn't give me an extra 2GB of storage. Am I doing something wrong?

Update: Ah... I've just found out that I already had 15GB of storage and the Security Checkup Bonus of 2GB

Well, I did it again just now and got an extra 2GB (4GB in total free). Looks like you can get extra every time you do a security check, maybe once a day perhaps
