This ain't some dodgy streaming site, they offer the movie in 720p or 4K.
So any 4K users out there?

There's a difference between goods in a shop and a movie, also I never said I pirated movies, I said I don't bother to the point to pay to watch them. These people are making fortunes from movies, with or without me buying a cinema ticket or a DVD, there's already enough people who worship them. And for my mentality, if we all thought the same we would survive without movies because with my mentality we don't really care.

What's the difference between stealing goods from a shop and pirating a movie?
(I'm not saying you pirate movies, but you say there's a difference, so I'm just curious what you think it is.)

Movie studios should stop bleating on about pirates and move from the antiquated 20th century pricing system to something that might just work in the 21st century.
Movies can be made to pay but not by holding on to the past.
Likely2
30 Nov 151#53
Wrong....no one has ever proved it does and in fact a survey a couple of years ago said it doesn't and before anyone starts blurting made up figures of trillions lost, they are all made up and once again no one in the industry has ever provided real proof, so if you believe the hype, carry on being mugged....it's old news the numbers are made up....
Want more proof people are gullable....this film is atrocious and not 4K but still heat....

I did have low expectations of this movie but it wasn't as bad as the previous 2 Terminator films imo... Not brilliant but not dire

Not sure what you mean by 'mentions'? If it's the price of a cinema ticket or the cost of buying a DVD, that particular figure will be a huge difference to them. That extra one person would be a 25% increase on their business. And if you look at it from the opposite angle, saying 5 people would have seen it if it hadn't been pirated, then it's a 20% loss, which is equally as substantial.
If you were running a shop and people were stealing your goods, do you think you'd be so nonchalant and not care that it was happening?
Rebellion

Milking franchises is actually beneficial for all though: it allows studios to take risks on other projects that might not otherwise get made and so giving audiences a wider variety of films. Yes some will be poor but others great.

Lol I'm not a pirate, I don't care, I never buy movies, I watch for free, so what's your point?
That's why it doesn't make a difference. I don't care if the whole film industry collapsed.
esskay92
29 Nov 151#44
If everyone has that mentality, then yh...your argument kinda falls flat.
Just admit you're a pirate and your piracy hurts the industry. I'll happily admit that myself, and won't hide behind justifications like "it won't make a difference".

You are kidding / trolling, right?
Paramount got very lucky with Terminator Genisys. The only reason it turned a profit is because they were able to release it in China, and it fortunately did well there. If it hadn't been shown in China (which, as a country, has a maximum number of non-Chinese films that can be released there each year), it would have just about made a profit for them.
Studios are still making money from box office receipts on a lot of films, but far from all. And they're still relying on the fast-declining DVD and Blu ray market to help them make money, whether a film's a hit or a loss.

None of the films are true or even close to 4K there's almost nothing available at present I think it's just stuff they've reencoded themselves I've got timescapes it's 320gb uncompressed a decent bluray player with a good 4K tv is way better than these !

That's a pretty low bitrate for 4K video, considering most Blu-rays have over 20 Mbps video bitrate and this is 9 Mbps. Looks like physical media will always have the best quality.
