The whole Gimme 5 promo is rubbish. The MS Marketing Dept. should be fired.

1. Nothing has been communicated clearly to punters. What time was it due to start yesterday? What time is it due to start today? Can you enter more than once? Does anyone even know if it is running more than one day (this will be answered soon)?

2. It was late launching yesterday anyway, somebody forgot to flip the switch. By the time it did nobody knew what was going on and most missed out.

3. The whole concept of 'fastest finger first' is flawed. Everybody knows that this only serves to overload web pages and as a result frustrates users when they can't load. So what does everyone do? Press 'Refresh' repeatedly and cause even more congestion. There are many complaints over the net that people couldn't log on, when they did the decent items were already claimed, or they said they were available and then couldn't be claimed. It all just seems very unfair.

4. Most of the most decent stuff is probably getting claimed by bots.

5. MS has been promoting a hashtag #gimme5 to generate excitement and advertising. Bad move. All the Tweets are critical of the whole thing. [Face palm].

I'm not just going to whinge, I'm going to suggest how it could be run better. To me these improvements are so obvious I don't understand why someone at MS did not put their brain in gear.

1. Communicate clearly all the points I made in 1. above. This is incredibly easy to do.

2. Make the whole claim process fair. Instead of first one to get through, each person gets to 'open a present' once per day (you could even have a cute little animation). Opening your present gives you a random chance to win something, obviously the rare stuff has a much lower chance. This method is used by all sorts of sites all the time, easy to do.

As it stands I think the Gimme 5 promo sucks.

I have been with Rewards since the start and have received feck all as per usual, it does seem unfair that here in the UK we are left out of these big giveaways yet we seem to always pay a higher price generally for services and games.

I would think it's one selection per gamertag for the promo otherwise it's fastest finger first every day and some of those top prizes are tasty

It's been years since I've seen Xbox Rewards. And now it's too late for me 'cause I don't use Xbox online anymore.

Very surprised anyone outside America got anything wouldn't let me and loads of others claim anything was on minutes before it was even tweeted about.

I'm in the rewards and frequently purchase digital versions of games from Xbox.com yet nothing ever shows in my rewards as purchased! Useless scheme but if I can get something for free here it'll make it better.

well i don't know why i'm so dissapointed its microsoft afterall 1 week after my consoles warrenty ended the console froze and messed up and they wouldn't repair it free of charge as it was 1 week out of warrenty instead they offered if i gave them my old console that they would sell me a refurb for £65

There are prizes shown in the grab bag that have not been released, so surely it's a daily thing?

An absolute shambles.

Unfair promotion. Microsoft don't state the time each set of offers becomes live plus anybody with a bad internet connection doesn't get the chance to claim anything. That's most of us in the UK except those on ultra fibre - people in the US have ridiculously fast speeds. The big prizes should be limited by country and winners should be selected by random draw. Yes, people will lose out, but it's more equal.
