Coconut oil! I used to get 6+ breakouts a year but I've only had one this year since using coconut oil since January. and it was sun / stress related. Make sure to get a good one though, cold pressed & unrefined. Just use it as you would moisturiser on the areas you usually get them a couple of times a week and it genuinely works! and not only that its also incredible for your skin and fades scaring from the sores to nothing within a few months. I use it daily, not just as a cold sore preventative but because of how great its made my skin. I also recommend getting a coconut oil lip balm from holland and barretts if you suffer sores on your lips. Just use it instead of your regular lip balm. Hope this helps!

Cold sore cream and patches are horrendous prices (although Superdrug does own brand lot cheaper, also Poundland is good hunting ground for both patches and cream.
Think about it, this tube is 5 grams, most name brand tubes are just 2 grams and cost around a fiver ... £2,500 a kilo. Nice earner, eh?

I'm surprised how many people get coldsores :smiley: I thought I was in a minority and hate that tingling feeling you start to get at which point you know it's going to be a bad week or two with that nasty looking, painful coldsore residing on your lips for everyone to see. Thankfully, I've only had 2 or 3 this entire year, much less than in the past. I've found that avoiding touching or even massaging your cold sore, no matter how tempting, significantly stops the cold sore spreading and lasting for longer.


Are you sure it's the benefits of coconut oil that is doing the job or is it the protective layer that the coconut oil provides for your skin that is doing it? Thanks for sharing the tip.

Just add a filter to your email account to capture all emails coming from *digiwax.com and forward it to the Trash folder. It should do the trick and delete all those spam emails.
