Not aware of CreateJS but hope that's fairly future proof/open, as went for that book in the end.
I wouldn't really compare HTML5 game dev with Unity, used for very different games. I'd use HTML5 for a 2D game, and then Unity for 3D.
But yeah, I've not done either yet. Keen to learn though.
