Want to continue to listen to that video without having to keep your screen on?
'Black Screen of Life' utilises the proximity sensor to detect when your device is in your pocket or face down, and shuts the screen off without affecting anything else :D

Yes I Have Samsung too
Pressing the power button puts your phone on a sleep state which stops apps and videos running. This app allows you to continue to listen to a video your streaming from the Internet or listen to music on YouTube for example
No I don't listen to much music on YouTube
The reason I was looking for an app like this is for when I want to just listen to a Twitch stream or listen to video I'm live streaming through a web browser without having to leave my screen on

You should put the name of the app in the title.
I know exactly why such an app exists. I listen to YouTube play lists at night and hate having light from the screen leak out when the phone is placed facedown. This app should come In handy.

I am an iOS user, was thinking of converting to Android. if you are listening "TuneIn " radio app and when u press off button does it mean your radio will switch off too?

Generally music playing apps will still run in the background after you lock the screen. This app would mostly be used for anything that plays video. It will work with any app though. So Yeh, you can use with TuneIn. You don't press the power button, all you do is cover the sensor near the earpiece on the phone and that will trigger the screen to go off, similar to how it does when you put your phone to your ear during a call.

This app is perfect for phones with AMOLED screens (most Samsungs etc) since blacks do not use power when displayed on the screen.

I didn't even think about this - does this app actually shut the screen off or does it just turn it entirely black ?

I use cercube 3 for YouTube in iOS. It runs YouTube while app is minimised and while the screen is off. Got to be jail broken though.

You hero, I work for a developer and was considering making an app to do this myself but you've saved me

Just installed it and from the looks of it - it seems like it actually turns the screen off.
