Loyalive is a fantastic free app for iPhone & Android smartphones. It lets you take control of your loyalty and store cards by letting you save them, collect points, see your balances, and its most unique feature allows you to discover your available and potential rewards.

Exactly, while it says it uses SSL encryption, that's just to protect the data being sync'd between your phone and their server. What encryption is there on the server end to stop someone stealing all your login data and then your points - and points = £.
Really like the idea of these types of apps, but there's potentially a huge risk.

STOCARD - terrible!! Got an iPhone6 and it doesn't work. Tried my Sainsburys Nectar, Waitrose and Tesco in store at the till and at self check out. It doesn't work. Will keep it just in case they fix the glitches.

I've struggled with Stocard too. It's a great app from a user interface but Nectar and Tesco doesn't work

Some of the self check out machines at supermarkets have scanners that can't read from screens, which means these kind of apps sadly don't work on them. The supermarkets need to update their old machines before this kind of thing will work everywhere!

Have tried Stocard which is a lovely app but does not seem to work with scanners in shops, which makes it useless. Will give this a go. Thanks.

Its nothing to do with the App its to do with the scanners, Laser (or more often LED) scanner will usually just reflect off the screen glass and not read them, the CCD camera type ones will be fine.
I do events and we use barcoded tickets, reading of phone screen is a pain, and we often end you manually typing the barcode number in.

I had this app and points of 2 of my cards disappeared both on the app and my store account. Don't know if it was a glitch or if it happens to other people, luckily I didn't have many points to begin with...
