I have done this - It was great at first, the odd letter to post and plenty of stamps to start off with. Then more stuff to post but less stamps. Then inserting tracking stuff, even less stamps and then it progressed to small parcels. Then it was posting at certain post boxes, then post offices........In the end it was ridiculous. Unless you have lots and I mean lots of spare time - avoid it!

My local post office is a 2.5 mile round trip and never pass any on my travels, so spent around £4.50 in car costs (45p per mile) posting the things, plus all the time taken.

This is fine if you don't have a life and can post items at specific times on specific days. Or indeed if you live in a postbox. I'd be curious if someone was to convert the 'free stamps' to an hourly rate for the effort you put in.

I must say though it is VERY time consuming if you work a full time job but as long as your well organised it shouldn't be too much hassle.
Was well rewarded and any cost to myself was reimbursed by love to shop voucher often £1-2 more than what i paid (so profit)

Meh, ty.. Will give it a go, sounds worth it for the first half.. just give up when/if it gets too much.. hopefully squeeze some stamps out of them :smile: do you have to let them know somehow if you decide to quit, or just ignore post from them 'til it stops?

Would be fine and would have been perfectly happy for another two years if they hadn't ignored my holiday which I logged with them in due time... yet still came back to a huge pile of crap. If these guys are policing Royal Mail, no wonder my post never seems to make it to my house :smirk:

Did try it last time but they then wanted me to post items at specific times in specific post boxes. I was away at work so could not do this. Emailed them and they took me off the scheme. Okay if you are retired or don't work I guess.

Be warned I done this for 2 years and finally gave it up in Feb of this year..
You are expected to post certain items on specific days at specific times using post offices, Mail boxes, post boxes local and out of town sometimes..
The amount of time taken to constantly sort through post and manage your own mailings runs into many hours..
You have to be very organised and not have much else to do to be able to fit this in with your life as it does get a little overpowering sometimes, you also have to pay for postage sometimes using your own cash and the post office reimburse you with lovetoshop vouchers to the same value roughly as it costs to post the item in question..

I done quite well over the 2 years and still have around 12 books of stamps left, but like has already been said here for all the time you put in and all the running around you have to do the hourly rate would probably be no more than about a £1 an hour..
I also copped a parking ticket aswell once trying to post an item at my local post office, that had to be posted from there and nowhere else, which they would not reimburse me for..

Would I do these surveys again knowing what I know now..Not a bl**dy chance!!!

As others have said the Correctly Delivered and Unaddressed Mail surveys are the best ones to get on, £5 Love2Shop vouchers for very little effort. I've easily received >£100 worth.

@hobsgrg: I think they can still achieve that by splitting the work. they are testing the distribution path, not the performance of the sender/customer. therefore they can make something like one person always sending to post box, the other person on the same are to post office. less hassle but objective achieved

I got confirmation to be in this program like a month ago and not received a single letter to post lol

I personally feel royal mail should do it in more coordinated way e.g. they should ask the delivery to one place only for each person. the person who lives near post box should only be given the task to post to part box only. or at least give the option to us to choose where we want to post and what type.

unfortunately no, here is my experience with them in case you wonder what you will get if you subscribe to this task:
initially they send me 3 letters to post each week. most of them to post box, since its nearby, it's very easy. then the week after they add 1 or more task to post to post office. what's making it taxing now is in one day, you can have one post to post box BEFORE lunch time on a specific day, and another 2 post to post office AFTER lunch time on the same day. when I started, I have delivery on 2 different days, by now 4, sometimes include Saturday! I live very central on my city so high street is walking distance away. however this kind of arrangement is very time consuming. sometimes they give you box to post in post office so it's more hassle but they do give additional incentive for boxes, which is 1-2 pounds worth of love 2 shop voucher. sometimes you have to pay for the postage and they will reimburse it for you, and guess what. ..it's the voucher again! so indirectly you are converting your money to those vouchers.

that's only the delivery bit. you then will also receive test mail from them, initially 1-2 in a week. but on my current situation, I could get easily 4-6 mails: letters from various sender (could be bank as sender, council, debt collector, Dvla, another company, etc), boxes, and now magazine! I was surprised so many times when receive letter from those unexpected sender. you then have to enter the details into their system (when you receive it, and the details of that letter) and if you it wrong (e.g. you didn't remember the arrival date correctly, you will be asked for another confirmation). I usually have to spend 1-3 hours on Friday to enter all of those in a week.

now the rewards: you will certainly get stamps (1 book of 1st class stamp 6pcs, and 1 book of large stamp 4pcs), at random they will give you commemorative stamps), and the vouchers (to repay your postage or incentive for posting boxes).

so now you can try to judge whether that is worthed. 4 days in a week trip to post box and post office, 1-3 hours sitting in front of PC, and nuisance letters that you have to throw away every week. all of those for stamp and voucher worth less than £20 a MONTH!

I did this for a while but, like others here, found it too much hassle for too little reward. After a while they started occasionally "forgetting" to even send the stamps so I stopped doing it. If you live v close to a Post Office and have lots of free time then it may be worth giving it a go...

I think it doesn't even reach the minimum hourly wage

Did this few months back and heard nothing at all since I did the survey online...no post and certainly no stamps!

it is a lot of work, ok if your VERY close to a postbox but after a few months you have to start posting in post offices and parcels too.
been accepted twice but its hard to do and work, dont think will bother again..
only plus point was the monthly free stamps add up so stick them on ebay!

Sorry but fail to see how this is a 'freebie'. You have to work for the stamps so they are not free.

Thanks for posting this. I did it a few years ago, and as I've just found I'm eligible to do it again I've signed up. I don't use lots of stamps, but they'll come in handy for competitions so any free ones are welcome. Now to find some free postcards, envelopes and paper. :stuck_out_tongue:

It's not a lot of effort I work from home take 2 hour lunches and just post things when walking my dogs - been doing it for about 4 years I have enough stamps to last a lifetime

I do this and sometimes it is a pain. But as mentioned you can always post items the following week if you miss a day. I use my stamps for eBay postage. It also helps that I have a post office at the bottom of the road otherwise I don't think I would do it.

I've done this in past and in addition to the above comment's about amount of items that need to be sent at certain times they introduced posting parcels (approx once a month) but having to pay for them with your own money and getting it back in high st voucher (slightly more then what you paid) puts me off doing it again.

I have done this for a couple of years with breaks in between. It "makes" me walk to the PO about 4-5 times a month on average so I appreciate the exercise. I have a great stock of 1st class and Large stamps. You also get presentation packs at intervals which I sell on Ebay. It can be difficult to manage if you are out for the day but they are happy for you to post the same time the following day/week so its workable. Some weeks you can have several items to post, other weeks just a couple.

i started straight on the £5 for saying how many pieces of unaddressed junk mail i got per day for 2 weeks. The first time i had to post the junk back to them - i suppose it was to see if i could be trusted, then they said just record the numbers and don`t need to send anything back.
You can log on once a week if you want to - So maximum 5 mins for a £5 love to shop voucher. I have done about 6 of these. I sometimes have to email if i haven`t been invited for a couple of months to remind them, but other than that i can`t complain at all. Not mega bucks but better than nothing.

I was taken off it because somehow RM found out I was a member of this TNS postal survey scheme!!!
You need a lot of spare time and more importantly need to live near a post office if you're considering doing it. Did it for 6 months before they took me off the scheme but doing this during the winter was putting me off anyway. Good if you visit the post office often and can use the stamps ie. perfect for someone who sells on ebay

I did this a while back for about 6 months and it was the most frustrating thing ever. So many letters and parcels to be posted at set times of the day and then logging in to the site daily to record it. Even worse was when I missed deliveries of their parcels that were too big to fit through the letter slot then had to go to the post office (cause I didn't know if it was a survey item or actual item). On the bright side I'll probably not need to buy postage stamps for a few years because I now have so many but there is no way I would sign up for this again! Too time consuming and tedious.

Didn't really enjoy the main programme much, it was all a bit of a faff.

But they kept my details on when I resigned and I take part in the correctly delivered survey every once in a while which is much easier- couple of minutes work a day for a fortnight and get a £5 love to shop voucher at the end. :smiley:

We signed up for this,then we moved house AND supplied our new address to them.They could not even get that right, every last letter/packet from them always went to the old address,despite our constant letters again giving them our new address.
In the end we thought that if they couldn't be bothered then why should we,so we stopped doing this.
