f.lux automatically adjusts your screen to filter out blue light that can cause issues with sleep and eye strain. Ive been using this for years and it really is fantastic. do some research and find out for yourself.... :)
They also recently released a version for iPhone, but was taken down by apple. There is an easy way round this and again it works great, automatically adjusting the screen...
'If you're reading this late in the day, pause to consider your eyes. Can you feel that familiar sting that comes from looking at a glaring LCD for too many hours? That's only the most noticeable symptom of what happens to our bodies when we spend hours staring into what's essentially a big, bright, lamp. F.lux is a simple and free app that helps fix this.'

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

I've been using this for years, I'm not convinced it helps me sleep better, but it certainly makes the screen easier on the eye under artificial light.

Does anyone know of any alternatives I can get from the App Store ( rather than random 3rd party website like this)?
I use koala browser myself but like the sound of this type of thing.
Great app been using it for about 4 weeks. Screen is definitely easier on the eyes at night. Quite scary how blue the display is when you disable it. My bet is that Apple will do something similar hence wanting to get rid of this.

Can still get it if you're jailbroken

Use this on my Mac and also my (jailbroken) iPhone.
It's really does help. Sometimes I disable it on the computer, and I find I can stay up for ages. If I've got it going, I start to feel tired when I should!
Thoroughly recommended!

If you want it for iOS all you need to do is install Xcode on your mac and sideload (takes about 5 minutes once installed) no need for a jailbroken phone.

good program but imo having any sort of blue filters makes it look ugly, however this is use to some so heat added

I've been using this for years, it uses up about 13MB of RAM which is nothing.
You can also temporarily disable it for films/games as well.

Used it since 2013, haven't looked back since. Can be disabled for an hour by pressing Alt+End which is very handy for gaming and the likes. Heat added!

I have used this in the past for iphones and its great. It's a shame that you still have to Jailbrake to use it though. I use twilight on my android phone which is a pretty good app too

It may be a little weird at first, but you will get used to it. Make the colour temperature fairly high to start with, then after a few days lower it more.
