I posted this before and it's still around, I'm sure this wont be new to some of you but there may be people out there that do not know about this and could be handy. :)
Fast, free internet, for everyone, and you don’t even have to be an O2 customer to use O2’s free WiFi. Once you’ve signed up, there are no passwords or usernames to enter; you just have to be near one of their many hotspots.
they've also launched a free app which lets you register easier - available for iOS and Android - to make easy to find O2 Wifi hotspots. The app will help you locate hotspots near you and around the country.
If you’ve got an Android device you can also use the app to register for the O2 Wifi service.

WTF‽
So when I can't connect I'm supposed to feel happy that I've subsidised all the freeloaders?
Way to go O2!

I'm assuming that when 'moments' like that happen for u they'll be moments when your on a Train too of some sort? (Rail, Tube, Underground, etc?), & then SUDDENLY as if by magic u hook up on free WiFi, & ..... (u are aware that the 'external sources' for alllllll the TFL Train Networks is via EE, TMobile, and Virgin Mobile right?, so ..... )
Maybe these 'sources' should kill their compliance with non-members too perhaps?, or .....
Other than 'Round Objects' (Circle, Oblong, Cylinder, & the like ... ) ever 'Shape' has more than '1 Side' the way I see it?. :-)

great post. totally hate how some users can put a damper on things. when users sign up to o2 or any other provider they agree to pay £x for so and so service. if the provider decides to use the money to attract other users to their network this is their prerogative. the question of 'subsidising' doors not even arise. some people lack common sense.

Subsidising doors???????? Or are you refering, in a bit of an oblique way, to the number of hotspots located in branches of Homebase and B&Q?

Well, O2 customers pay for their service. Surely O2 can do what they like with that money. It doesn't all have to be reinvested into making improvements.

You can still use O2 Wi-Fi, that's why this post was submitted.
This has always been free for everyone for years

Have you actually tried connecting to the O2 Wi-Fi? I usually have to switch Wi-Fi off and use 3G which is faster and actually connects (sometimes).
