Usually not many options for free home testing for people in Scotland but worth having a go if you've not been tested recently and don't want to queue up at the health clinic. It's not an instant test like the £30+ home ones but more reliable and you have to return via post and wait on results.
Not sure if it matters but probably best saying on the application you've had unprotected sex recently (multiple choice questions). You can do it anonymously/make up a name etc but you do have to give your mobile phone number and address obviously for them to post kit to and a confirmation text will be sent for you to be able to complete form and results will be text/emailed.
Handy service if you just want peace of mind or if you've just never thought of the importance of getting tested before. Better safe than sorry!
There's plenty more options available for England and Wales if you Google. Much more limited in Scotland and even the health clinics up here take several weeks to get results and have you queuing all day in a waiting room to do the test in the first place! - Though a full health check is also important now and again if you're sexually active with multiple partners.
Primarily aimed.at men I believe but allows you to choose any option in theory.

Posted my test on Friday late afternoon and got text first thing this morning with results so a very efficient service! My doctor can't even do it that fast! :smile:

You could always pop down your local clinic for a full check too if it's been that long!
I just hate needles and end up skipping the blood test! But with this you still have jab your finger with a pin and fill a wee container to post back. I ended up having to cut my finger with a Stanley blade to fill it though! as the **** couldn't make me bleed! :wink:

Why not go and get a full check at the clap clinic? If you've been together 8 years it's probably a bit late now, but there are plenty of STD's out there, so may as well get the full tests.

Always wanted to have a test before having kids. Going to order for both myself and the girlfriend. Together 8 years but neither of us have ever been tested.
