99p is an absolute bargain for this excellent post-apocalyptic, dystopian novel.

This was my favourite read from 2016 and I'm a male! Brilliant book and well worth the price tag!

Well I think it does to an extent. As reviews show. If you approach is from a logical/scientific mindset, or expect that - it doesn't really stand up. "Hard" sci fi and that approach tends to be more popular with guys. I think it helps going in with expectations prepared to an extent - should lead to more enjoyment.
I still enjoyed it, but the lack of logic let it down a bit for me. It could still have been the same piece really if ammo, fuel, etc. was dealt with more realistically.

I'm a guy and loved this book. Gender doesn't have anything to do with it. Hot deal.

It's okay. If you're a guy and into dystopic or sci fi novels then you may be dissapointed.
It seems like a novel about theatre reworked to be a dystopic piece.
Lot's of switching back and forth, deliving deep into theatre and some comics.
Not much gritty survivalism.
Also not very logical. E.g. no ammo, no fuel etc. No one with power.
The writer seems like an artsy girl.
It's interesting for its different take, and softer more character based approach, and certainly worth a quid, and probably worth a read, but after the hype I was dissapointed.
May be worth expecting less going in.
