Good deal for a soundbar with wireless sub-woofer and rear speakers, I've been watching the price of this one for the last couple of weeks and it's by far the cheapest I've seen it. I quite like this one as it has 3 HDMI inputs (plus an HDMI output with ARC) whereas most soundbars at this price just have 1 in and 1 out.

Be very careful here, myself and a lot of others (see the SONY forums) have had major struggles with this system over the last year or two. A lot of these systems suffer from 'drifting audio sync'. It means you start watching something with sound and picture in sync and it gradually gets more and more out of step until its unwatchable and you have to turn if off/on to bring back into sync.
It seems to be related to the internet connection. Most people have found disconnecting from the internet (thereby losing some of its functionality) is a workaround. But this hasn't solved all peoples problems, and certainly not all peoples permenently. Also SONY have released multiple patch updates that are supposed to fix it. And for some people it has - but for some its made it worse - or started the problem when they did not have it before !!
It also struggles a bit from lack of volume. For some sources its ok, but for others you can have it on maximum and still struggle to hear dialogue.

I to own this system and I think you have not set it up properly, you can adjust the volume level of each individual speaker in the settings to make them louder, although I would say the rear speakers are not loud enough. But overall plenty of bass and volume. I've never had sync issues but again you can adjust this in the settings to cure this. Never had a problem with my internet connection To it. For £299 you are never going to find anything better with wireless rears , and would agree there are better systems out there but for budget this is ok.

woolymammoth8606, please give me a little credit, I'm not a noice user. You say "I've never had sync issues but again you can adjust this in the settings to cure this. " There is obviously a setting where you can cure small fixed lip sync issues by adusting by a few milliseconds. This is something completely different, its where the same source becomes more and more out of sync as you are watching until it is full seconds out. SONY engineers are aware of the problem and have given it a name (drifting audio sync) and released patches aimed at fixing it. The SONY forum has a long thread with MANY users that have hit this problem - it is a known fault with SOME units. Its really quite annoying how dismissive you were there !
I am also perfectly aware you can adjust individual speaker levels - and have indeed put them all up to maximum ! I also said for some sources the volume is plenty loud enough - the system is not all bad. But watching say game of thrones on sky atlantic which has a lower output volume is definitely a problem. Again if you do some research a lot of people have commented on this.
If you're lucky and get a working system (not all units are affected) then for this price I would almost recommend it. But if you do hit the problem it will drive you insane ! And SONY have been really bad about it. Despite SONY engineers admitting the problem on the forums and working on a fix SONY themselves were very slow to offer any real help or recompense. Eventually the engineers did work out a deal where faulty units could be returned for a 75% refund, but it was too little too late in my eyes. Lots of people on the forum have sworn never to buy another SONY product because of their experience.

btw if you type 'HTRT5 Lip-Syncing' into google you'll see a thread on the sony community site FORTY-ONE pages long with users and a SONY engineer discussing the issue.
