I'm hoping it's decent. I've got an edge lit at the moment which has DSE, light bleed and other issues. We shall see if direct lit is better

Yeah I'm just wondering if my expectations from Plasma to this will be left short? The picture I get on my plasma is awesome but always wary about newer picture tech.

@mobily could you post in here your experiences with the set if thats ok. Really tempted by this. Thinking it might go lower before/after Xmas..
No, I'm saying that those complaints are strikingly similar to the crap that LCD salesmen used to say about plasmas, it's just a shame thay couldn't come up with something more original.

As this is getting near OLED money and not even 55", it's cold for me.

There is no 49 inch oled and Its not like Oled is superior in everyday. its has problem with burn-in, image retention, banding, shorter life and low brightness level, HDR is better on LCD

Are you saying they are not an issue for oled? If you go on avforums or something there is plenty of user reporting those problems.

H E A T, keeping an eye on this badboy as my next step up from Plasma. Looks good from reviews, couple of negatives about the OS but I think that's livable. Hoping it's cheaper post Xmas

I've taken the plunge, the OS gets the usual negative reviews, I just don't think android works well on a TV. The set will not receive Dolby Vision support if that's your thing and there are question marks over the ability of the YouTube and Netflix app to play 4K HDR content. I've asked the question and hopefully will receive a response.
The main selling point is the FALD which is very rare for a 49" TV and receives superb reviews for uniform lighting.

I doubt any LED TV is going to be an upgrade to a 2010/13 plasma, hold out for an OLED, that's what I'm doing

I agree there isn't a 49" OLED.
OLED has had some issues in its early days but my TV has none of the issues you mention. I've also got a 2009 Nokia N86 sitting in front of me that has an OLED screen. It too has no issues and looks like it did in 2009. On something like a phone, you'd expect burn in, but this is free. I'm not saying some sets do have issues, but if you buy OLED and have banding, just send it back.
LCD on the other hand will always have issues with poor black levels, pixels that respond too slowly and viewing angles.

Great deal, does anyone have the link to where they got the code from? As John Lewis will not price match due to the following reason "Sadly, we are unable to consider the voucher code for a further £100 reduction as this code is not advertised on Co-op Electrical's website."

Bought one of these a few months back. Wish I'd never bothered. Nice display, but that is where it ends. Pretty much everything else about the TV is buggy/unreliable.
