Santa (an American English term) or Father Christmas (the British English term) has nothing to do with Christianity, actually Christmas is a pagan festival that got incorporated into Christianity. If you're truly Christian you must not celebrate the pagan festival, it is a great sin.
And on this offer, just give some money directly to the NSPCC and don't expect anything in return, THAT is charity. When you receive something back or expect something back, that is NOT charity.

I have been getting these since my daughter was born. The paper and layout very similar every year, so when she's old enough to read, she will have a stack of similar letters and it will make Santa seem a bit more real, and a great charity to donate to

Cold... NSPCC wants to jail parents who practice reasonable smacking. No thanks.

There's no such thing. And anyway, if the NSPCC know about it (ie, you've left a mark), you can't defend it as reasonable. Stop hitting your kids.

You won me over, so I just donated 1p, and with a stamp costing 56p, I'm sure I've saved someone from hearing this left winged liberal rubbish. No wonder so many kids are running wild and are out of control. Thanks again!

Donating to charity should be seen as a humanitarian duty on all of us. My own experience is that people who are less off actually donate more than those who are millionaires - when income vs donation ratio is taken into account. We're lucky we live in the UK where charities are regulated and have a lot of financial oversight. Some countries misappropriate funds that are destined for charitable causes.

I wonder if that happens to most of the foreign aid provided by the UK...

Definitely the case in my experience. The less someone has the more they seem to give.
Closer to the breadline, closer to reality perhaps.

In my experience you'd be mistaken.

Guess it depends on the charity.

Well said princesslm. Perhaps Nygaard88 doesn't have any little trolls at home, so doesn't understand the way kids go on and on about stuff they're expecting!
I agree that the 23rd is a little late for a Santa letter, as due to Christmas post, this was very nearly an 'after Christmas letter!'
Nygaard88 - please read princesslm's original post on this again (or get a grown up to help you) and you'll see that they were not being negative, just informative. They described the letters (them) as 'nice', and included relevant insight to their experience. You didn't add anything of worth to this post, just an inflammatory response.
Summary
princesslm's post was helpful.
Nygaard88's post was just shameless trolling, but included a daft emoji to somehow soften their toxic retort. So in the spirit of this have a few emojis.... :stuck_out_tongue:  :joy: oh and I need to include IMHO of course hahahahaha.....

They are nice but mine didn't arrive until the 23rd last year and I felt that was a little late

1. I make that before Christmas, 2. That's what you get when you don't donate enough... Next time be generous 3. This is a nice service by a charity to raise a few funds - stop spreading negativity on it and donate to this great cause. Comments like that will only detract from this :kissing_heart:

I didn't say it wasn't before Christmas I said it was late for what I wanted. I had 3 children asking of the postman had been every day and then extremely disappointed faces when I had to explain to them that their letter from Santa hadn't arrived yet. Some people don't have the money to be 'generous' as you put it! I donated £7.50 per letter and I felt that was enough!. I haven't spread negativity, I commented on my experience from last year and I'm entitled to do that. You don't need to buy the Santa letters to donate by the way you can always set up a direct debit :raised_hand:

Charity starts in the boardroom in most charities. NSPCC is little different.
Only a poor man gives to a charity. A rich man starts one.

That's incredibly high - considering how much charities rely on volunteers.

Oh my god, they want to attract decent competent people to manage such an important charity, handling lots of money and looking after so many children. Quick someone call the Daily Mail. Their pay is lower than I actually expected.

2. That's what you get when you don't donate enough... Next time be generous <-- Bit of an assumption to make, don't you think? Considering you don't know how much they donated. It could have been hundreds for all you know! I think the only comment detracting from this is your comment
