Currently this is specific to Birmingham, but this will be nationwide in the next couple of weeks. A great incentive and biggest ever for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank

If you live in the north east of England, your nearest branch is Carlisle

well let's assume that for eg you spend 10 hours
then £250 / 10 = £25 an hour
that's nearly as much as a plumber earns

It appears you only have to open the account in Birmingham so if your visiting but based elsewhere you can still get the £250

Can I create an account somewhere else and use it to switch to these guys?? I already have a Santander 123 and TSB reward, both of which I receive interest and cash back monthly (I.e don't want to lose either).

Yeah I think so, at least according to MSE. Just make sure the T&C's are met ie two direct debits and 2 x £1000 going in

They have updated mobile banking recently which is much better, internet banking is fine but I use mobile banking

They have much the worst Internet Banking service I've used, outside of a couple of Building Societies. I use the web based version from various banks, and this one is ungainly, frustrating and lacking in functionality when compared to the likes of Lloyds, Santander or Nationwide. It doesn't have the Ill-thought out login process of M&S Bank or Barclays, but a strange use of pop-up screen and poor integration with other services means I stopped using my Yorkshire Bank account in favour of more functional services.

The new YORKSHIRE bank is due to drop very very shortly. brings it up to dae with modern times. I actually switched banks from them because they were stuck in the stone ages with online banking but supposedly it puts them right up there with the new update.

If you mean the app, it's a re-branded version of the B app that Clydesdale users currently have. The only difference is the Yorkshire one will be blue instead of Clydesdale's red.

It's not strictly speaking Yorkshire or Clydesdale but their new online brand 'B'.
It doesn't have it's own online banking - it's all done via the 'B' app on tablet/phone.
If you want to use it on the PC, it's will be Yorkshire/Clydesdale branded and is very basic. It won't have most of the B functionality as this is restricted to the B app.
The T&Cs also state is you've had a Clydesdale/Yorkshire switching incentive then you won't get another. Yorkshire Bank and B are simply both brand names for Clydesdale Bank.

7. You (or any joint account holders) do not qualify for this offer if you have previously received a cash
incentive for switching to Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank using the Current Account Switching Service.
damper81 to m1chaels
5 Oct 17#24
My understanding is that if you benefitted from the £150 incentive previously then you would be eligible for this, although not sure if you could cross banks to get a benefit from say YB if cb was previously used

Looks like a no for previous switchers even across brands. I know people who did the original offer for over 2k across the two brands as when it first came out there were no limits on how many times you could switch to either bank. I was too slow and only did YB x 3 (self, DW and joint) and was kinda hoping I could do Clydesdale this time but it looks like they have learned....
