HUKD users looking at any "gaming" PC.
Harryisme to ollie87
10 Oct 17#54
Not just HUKD, LinusTechTips every few months post a video about what viewers buy on Amazon using their referral links, and despite them pointing out multiple times for gaming a i5 is the best option, the most popular CPU is always the i7 CPU, though often paired with a B150 motherboard that doesn't allow a overclock, for these i7 K processors they are buying.
Just goes to show sometimes users only look at key components when looking at a gaming PC instead of the overall PC spec sheet.

10 Oct 17#33
I'd be interested to discover why people think the i7 is going to offer a substantially better experience over this quad-core 7th gen i5, which is essentially the same silicon underneath - unless it's just the marketing that's selling it.

Good price for the spec. Wish there was such a thing as a portable gaming laptop. I suppose Raven Ridge might give acceptable performance at a smaller size.

TCB only tracks at £4.20, as they take the VAT off, so falls below to £499.00 mark for the £30 offer.

Aside from obviously being less expensive how does this compare with amazon.co.uk/gp/…NAG for a gaming laptop (at a budget!)?
ollie87 to Hal
10 Oct 17#49
Basically the same.
Both are pretty awful really, but if you insist on gaming on a laptop, on a budget it's about the best you can do. A better option for a cheaper, more powerful, portable system would be to build your own mITX rig.

Well you do get an optical drive and an extra years warranty with The MSI model. Battery seems better on the HP plus it looks like the HP has aluminium housing so perhaps better build quality.

Cheers OP! Nabbed one earlier as I need a new laptop.
Completely new to pc gaming and probably a dumb ass question, but will this run 'pc exclusives' like euro truck simulator 2 and the latest footy manager well enough?
I'm guessing they're not the most demanding of titles but I'm not buying it for AAA games, got a PS4 & Xbox one for that.
Thanks.
