Not a good idea - the link will allow you to 'activate' the offer, but it will not work if you didn't get invited - I speak from experience! : (

The link will work, will show you an activate button, which will say activated, but if you didn't get the email, you won't get the points. Are you saying that you didn't get the email, but used someone else's link & did get the points? If so was that in the last 12 months?

If you are invited to this offer screen grab the page that shows it has activated. Had a 2 week fight with nectar to get my points previously and it was only because I had screen grabbed the page they reluctantly honoured it in the end.

Saving my Nectar points for the Sainsburys regular Autumn Double Up offer which, according to several sources, is due soon, and where every £10 worth of points you have gets you a voucher for £20 to spend in Sainsburys.

It's usually restricted to £50 of double up vouchers per department so you can't use them all towards a console as i got caught out on this a while back.

Isn't there a Max of £40 that you can double up?

Thats per department. But if you want to spend in only one department youll have to do it in another transaction

The eBay offer has appeared in my account, although I have done it before. It seems vague. "Spend 500 Nectar points or more on your next eBay shop and we’ll give you 50% of those points back! .......Maximum 1 redemption per user Maximum 5,000 bonus points only.".
Does that mean that I should change 10,000 points to vouchers and spend them on one item to maximise the deal?

Max is normally £20 doubled up to £40 per department. Staff are unclear whether you can do each dept more than once, some are ok with it but the last time the offer was on they had received instruction not to, although there was no system check so another staff member or another occasion was ok.
You can potentially get more expensive items by doing the same dept with cheaper goods several times and then exchanging the multiple cheaper items for one more expensive one at customer services. It also tends to be that the double up is immediately followed by the 25% off at TU. Again you can buy full price clothes on double up and then when the 25% off starts exchange for the 25% off items you actually want.
Or Sains could stop being such tight-arsess and take of the max £20 of points that can be doubled restriction....

Have loads of points but nothing showing in my ebay or nectar accounts for this promotion and in the op's picture above it says convert them for the first time, so thinking account specific promotion for people who have never converted nectar points into an ebay voucher in the past, so be warned you may not get them.
Have not had this offer in over a year and nothing else worth using the points for, I find Saisburys double up promotion in their departments too restrictive so shall keep waiting for the next ebay 50% back offer which is of the same value but more useful.

I converted £90 only yesterday! But at least the 50 percent back is based on 5000 points not the full amount.... But I'm unclear on the 5000 been the max they will return back as a bonus or they give you 50 percent of a maximum of 5000 converted points therefore 2500 points

ah ok, wasn't sure if would have been 50% of the total amount of points i'd converted and spent? i'm not even sure if it's account specific or not.... i haven't received anything via email.
all good though, ended up getting £70 knocked off an iwatch for my boy, so he's happy
