i just redeemed the code amazon gave me only £20 worth free credit. I applied it to the top of the existing code. May be it's the reason :face_with_monocle:

Oh, I thought you meant you were using both the individual and family offers. I'd already seen the 30 day and 3 month individual options referenced. Not really "both codes" as I was hoping to try!

Had the £7.99 Amazon music unlimited individual account earlier in the year. Use to be able to stream different songs to multiple echo dots at the same time. Son could be playing 1 song in the bedroom, whilst I was playing something else in the kitchen diner, whilst the mrs was playing something else in the living room. They've stopped that now :thinking:

After some googling I'd have to have the family account and create separate Amazon account for each echo dot? What a load of rubbish. Just allow multiple streams to different devices at the same time with the same account.

Doesn't seem to get 4 months as this '3 free months' includes the free month offered by Amazon. I have the 30 day trial and then a £20 promo, which coveres a further 2 months.

No, the Prime version offers about 2 million tracks, this is the Unlimited version (about 40 million tracks) which is more akin to Spotify etc.

Mine wasn't working either. I even set up a new Groupon account for a new code. That code didn't work either. I force closed the Amazon music app on my phone, reopened the app and was given the option of a 30 day free trial plus the Groupon £20 promo.

Have Groupon reduced the promo from £30 credit to £20 credit as £20 is what I got just now??? Or if this different for everyone? Can anyone confirm? Also how do I apply the family voucher if I have an individual account? Can I have both an individual and family account? When I click on Family subscription it is telling me that it will charge me £15 has anyone done this?

Didn't seem to work for me. I got the code and, apparently, successfully applied it, but no subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited has appeared on my Amazon account.

EDIT: Got it working now. I had to start a free trial via the Amazon homepage, then the credit was applied.

Hi John, I'm in exactly the same boat. Had a long go at Amazon support about this, took about 3 weeks to get a response, it went from Echo Support to Technical team who forwarded it to the Amazon Music team. Their response was "yeah, we've turned it off". I've spent the last week or so looking into it thinking that I would need an Amazon account for each Echo so they could each be part of the household and share the main account's Family Plan so this offer came just in time so I could try it all out without parting with any cash. Turns out just one account for all the Echoes is enough.

Here's what I've set up today:
Registered a new account with Amazon and used the Groupon voucher to give that account 3 months Family Plan
Added the new account to my old account's "Household"
Need to sign into the Alexa App using the new account so you can accept the Alexa Ts&Cs
Now you can go to an Echo and say Switch account and it will flick to the new account (with Family Plan).
I interpreted the Family Plan as "you can have 1 stream per account and up to 6 in total" but it seems to treat it like "you can have 6 streams running at the same time". I had 4 running together earlier without any issues.

The fly in the ointment: shopping todo lists are shared, doesn't matter which account is in use but smart home stuff (I have some Yeelights and I'm using IFTTT" doesn't work from the new account. It could be worse, but at the end of the day switching between accounts is really easy so I can live with it for now (I could set up all the devices again I suppose)

You can get both the individual and family offer on your Groupon account in case one doesn't work.

Yes that's how I've got it working again today is by using a Family Plan, it should just work. Probably worth buying a month first though to double check before forking out £150

To be fair to them, the conditions on the voucher do say:
The promotion voucher code can only be redeemed until 00.59pm GMT 03/09/2017 at amazon.co.uk.

Of course, that doesn't explain why Groupon are still taking orders for an item that expired over a month a go, or why Amazon are accepting the codes still!

Mine's added the £20 credit but with the normal price being £7.99 a month, how is that 3 months free? It's about 2 and a half surely?!

Also would like to know this, don't want to forget to cancel then have Amazon take money off me but if i have to wait until the credit runs out then i will have to set a reminder on my calendar.

Looks like the three months includes the one month trial. £20 is 2 months for non prime members and £30 is two months of family plan.

Well, I could understand that if the individual plan had not been such a step up in payment from the echo plan (double the price). I am not wanting to share my streams with someone else but rather be able to stream different pieces to different rooms within my house.

Mine is saying the same thing. Also I am not seeing any sort of Unique code, it just says to put "groupon code" into promotion box. Which I have tried multiple times.

You have to download your groupon voucher PDF, and in the PDF it gives you the code

Couldnt get this to work for me at all, tried & tried, both family & normal.
Then read a comment about force closing the app (I'd been trying on laptop & checking the subscription page as mentioned earlier which hadnt changed), & when I reopened the app, nothing!

I then clicked 'join music unlimited' in the app, & it gave me the option to choose 30 days free then £20 groupon credit for the normal subscription & the same but £30 groupon credit for the family subscription.

I have Amazon Music for Echo. I got this Groupon offer which said code was successful. I thought maybe I ought to cancel the Echo dot Amazon Music as it wasn't the Individual and it finishes 26th October, so I have. When I follow Groupon instructions it goes onto to click on upgrade for Individual plan. I haven't done this yet because I am unsure if the Groupon offer will be applied or will I find that I am now upgraded to Individual plan and paying for it if I click on upgrade.

The code didn’t display for me on the mobile groupon site - I had to request desktop view and then the code showed up under My Groupons.
