Good thing is with costa, I was able to go into store and get a blank gift card and then email them with all the £3 codes and have them on one card

I won some Costa cards with the Android Pay promo last year as well, when it wasn't restricted to just HSBC cards. Be sure to check the expiry dates on the gift cards,as I think they expire if unused for a year.

Yeah my £3 ones had expiry date of this November so doing this makes it last longer

Did you have to activate the card first by putting £5 on it? I picked up a gift card yesterday but there's no QR code on it so I'm wondering how you transfer all the £3s

A very limited number of stores if android.com/int…se/ is to be believed - is that list up to date?

The list just has the big firms on it. Anywhere that accepts contactless payments will accept Android Pay. Also, Android Pay doesn't always have the £30 limit, but there's no way of knowing without trying it. I surprised staff in a few retailers / restaurants by going over £30.

Thanks a lot - I am in London so will try the Oyster then - assume just like normal card just touch the phone in/out to record and end the journey?

No-ones mentioned that you need Internet connection to use android pay,so make sure you not on flight mode all the time!!

That's a good shout - network can sometimes be patchy in/out of the tube station - need to factor that in - although there are always stored tokens on the device unless I ended up using them all.

Wok I did lastime was I carried the MasterCard the AndroidPay was linked to,so that if AndroidPay failed/dead battery etc.,I had the card as backup and the gates would still open
I had a similar problem on the buses recently.I used my contactless credit card on the bus reader numerous times and it kept on failing.Luckily I had another contactless card on me and so I was able to use that, else would've been a long walk home :astonished:
Remember the 1st time you use your contactless card for payment they require chip & pin for verification. Afterwards, now and again when making purchases, they sometimes require chip & pin verification for security.

It's just the same as Oyster PAYG with a contactless payment card, so the weekly cap applies. You can register the physical credit/debit card with the online account and the Android Pay travel history will also show.
You do need the phone to be awake, unlike Samsung Pay where it could be asleep for TfL.

What about those of us who have been using Android Pay since day one and actually helped get it off the ground? Thanks for nothing...

I managed a few Costa £3 cards and a £20 HoF in my month. If you travel in London, then every tap on the Oyster reader would count as a separate entry.

Hmm, so I have been using Android Pay with my HSBC account for nearly a year, but I have never used it on my HSBC Credit Card. I've added it to Android Pay today and bought a banana at Waitrose, but got no reward thing after paying :disappointed:

Just set this up. Are only certain retailers valid for the chance to win or is it just any transaction?
