I have the elite version and TBH I rarely use it . You can correct all lens aberrations in ps . But I mainly use the nikon software NX2. I have not been able to get anywhere close with any raw converter as good as NX2 . There are a lot of different settings in elite but the output is not as good as Nikon’s although the aberration corrections are good . None the less for a freebie it’s worth a play . I use the perfectly clear plugin for PS as well that’s pretty good on certain things .

About 6 years ago, the first prize in the What Digital Camera annual photography competition - for which thousands of entries are received from both amateurs and pros - was won by a photo taken with a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. It's not how many thousands of pounds you have of equipment or which version of Lightroom you have, it's your eye and the way you express yourself with whatever camera you have.

In my case, quite a bit as I didn't have a clue how to deal with the imperfections myself and this tool is really handy..

Typical - get one product on here for free/cheap, then need to spend a fortune to buy what it's used for.
Like the time I bought a £7 dashcam, then had to splurge on a car to fit it in: hotukdeals.com/com…081
Thanks for the deal op.

Basically a free taster to tempt you to buy the elite package, so I am not really sure if it will ever be a paid version. If people make use of it, then its a good shout from the OP.

Sorry, what's it for or type of software its used to replace? e.g. photoshop etc

DxO OpticsPro is not a replacement for Photoshop or GIMP or Lightroom. All it does is that it automatically corrects for lens distortion, chromatic aberrations, color fringing, vignetting and soft edges - which it does very well...
thank you for the advice, it detected my camera and lens combination and downloaded compensation for aberrations. it'll be an interesting comparison with olympus software. 443MB
