Seems very good value in my opinion. 2 bars are 110g, 2 bars are 120g (No Idea as to the weight on each). In this Retro Secltion box, you'll get: 1x Dairy Milk, 1x Caramel, 1x Fruit & Nut & 1x Whole Nut. Each bar with retro packaging.

Brown Lego bricks are tastier than Cadbury chocolate these days; I fulfil my chocolate cravings at Lidl these days.

Not keen on the Lidl stuff at all. All subjective though ain't it, so not much currency in declaring something of such varied appeal awful or not

Yes each to there own. I mean it's a good deal compared to the rrp of the item so I have added heat for the find and the effort. Just prefer not to eat the brand anymore.

I find pretty much all chocolate acceptable, I'm glad I'm not fussy as I don't have the funds for the expensive stuff but the Lidl stuff is something else, it really is delicious. I usually have 10 bars of Fin Carré Milk Chocolate or Crusti Choc in the cupboard which is insane but I can now easily feed my chocolate addiction.

I am not saying Lidl chocolate is the best in the world, but we are waiting for winter to arrive in southern China, as we have a number of orders for their range - all waiting to be posted out. Half the dining table is currently blocked by piles of the stuff.
Another couple of weeks and the temps should be down to around 25-28C and it will be safe to send.

Oh is it like the old Creme Egg scandal where the taste difference is negligible but we just kick a fuss up about it cos it's been taken over by Americans?

Americans that fill what was a perfectly good product with Palm Oil just to increase their profits? Americans that love Hersheys chocolate that tastes of sick? Those Americans?

Cadbury chocolate just tastes like grainy fat now. Perhaps the fondant filling of a creme egg masks it for you, or perhaps you just have no taste. I don't know.

not really, just a retro picture on the modern wrapping, they should be wrapped in foil with a paper sleave over the top for proper retro goodness

The whole nut ones from Lidl and Aldi kick ass compared to the cadburys whole nut (although I still love the cadburys ones) but the lidl/aldi ones are chunkier blocks with bigger bits of nuts and lovely tasting chocolate, they are only about 60p for a half decent sized bar as well. They are in the green wrapper if anyone wants to look for them. They are step above the cadburys.

Doesn't take much to be a step (or three) above Cadburys these days - sadly.

How very true - and Cadbury's chocolate has now been bastardised to such an extent that it's a key ingredient, just to save money and increase profits:

spannerzone to stevennoad
4 Oct 17#17
Yeah I'm not sure they're any worse or different from when I was eating them as a kid 30+ years ago. It's not like Cadbury's was ever high quality chocolate, it's high vegetable oil based chocolate which used to be jokingly called vegelate. I still liked it....that slightly greasey milky chocolate.
I don't like the fact Modelez bought the company and now churns out so many vomit inducing versions of the tried and trusted Cadbury's chocolate bars.
I am glad they brought back Wisper bars though
