Great price for this Asus branded card, not that I am condoning the insane prices Nvida are getting away with these days, but I was asked to find the the best price and was surprised when I found it this low.
The model is ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-11G-GAMING and the specifications and marketing page is HERE!. Best price I can find from a UK based seller is £779, so a pretty impressive saving of ~£120
Dispatched & Sold by Amazon.
Once in the basket the graphics card is €737.70, and the shipping is only €6.98.
Paid for in € with a fee free card, including shipping it comes a total of €744.68, which translates to £659-661 depending on the card used, and exchange rate when you check out.

Good price compared to everywhere else , was hoping I'd be seeing one of these sub £600 coming up to black Friday but I'll be honest with myself , not gonna happen

With RAM prices on the rise, and it now affecting GDDR5/5X then I can't see these dropping too much lower, unless there is an official price cut, I posted a sub £600 1080 Ti earlier in the year, I don't think they have been anywhere near as low since. :disappointed:

Would be nice to know the warranty situation when buying this card from amazon.it

Asus still cover the warranty as per normal buying it from Amazon.co.uk, or if you prefer within the first year you can have Amazon.it deal with it should it go faulty.

Amazon will deal with it for the whole warranty period, no need to contact Asus

You snooze, you lose.
However it's Amazon so you can back order it, and they will ship when it's back in stock - 2 weeks+. Worth it to save £100+ imo

The world has gone truly mad when you have to pay £660 for a graphics card.....

I sometimes wonder if i am taking crazy pills concerning card prices and what people will happily pay. lol

Inflation shows that these prices are in line with what was paid 10 years ago for top end cards.
Nothing has changed, the top end GFX card segment pays about the same per card as it did 10-15 years ago.
The only difference? You are now in the market for the top end cards, back then? You probably weren't.

Happily pay? No, but I will pay whatever it takes to get full use of my monitor... 4K 60fps on the highest of settings :muscle:

Just seems like a crazy premium to pay particularly when in say <2 years time, it will probably be selling for £200.
Surely, a 1070 or 1080 is more than adequate to play any game at max details?
You'd have to be a serious wealthy game addict with oodles of cash to something like this!

I doubt it. 980ti's are still going for £275+ on eBay.

Depends on resolution and Hz. Even a 1080Ti cannot run max settings 4k @ 60fps or 1080p @ 144fps in all games.

But 4K monitors and crazy refresh rates, £660 graphics cards etc.........all just to play Chuckie Egg or whatever. Unless you're a pro gamer or game reviewer working for some magazine, I never understood why people go to such extremes when other reasonably priced hardware works pretty much just as well.
Each to their own I suppose. Just seems a bit nuts.....

There are noticeable differences of gaming at 4k or high refresh rates. Agree its not a necessity and most people are happy with 1080p 60Hz but the benefits can be taken advantage of by any average gamer if they are willing to pay for them. Have you actually tried either?

YEAP, it is super crazy, you hit it on the head, price no longer matches performance anymore, bang for your buck is dead now, i mean i have a 970, what am i even going to see that is offering such a performance boost as to justify 500 quid.....absolutely nothing.

Hot from me but I have never looked into this one as yet. I've gathered up the money for one and cleared it with the wife but a part of me cries inside with the price of these. Its really ridiculous tbh. It would have been much worse though to spend £700 on a non ti 1080

I have taken the plunge at this price. I do not see a better alternative, this side of the new year. Constantly waiting for the next best thing will drive me insane. Hopefully they will deliver sooner rather than later! (2-4 weeks estimated)

This one aint bad either, plus you get full warrenty from Overclockers...
That looks decent, with a 5 year warranty too. I do already have a Strix Motherboard, so I would take the Strix as preference. Will keep my eye on this, as there is no confirmed shipping date for the Strix

I hate being the scrub in my family both my dad and bro have this card...
Im still running a 970, playing warhammer TW2 i cant even run the game on high and get solid fps, my brother runs it at 1440p max settings 144 fps!
People think other hardware runs just as well like above but no it does not, the 1070 is half the price and doesnt get anywhere near the FPS at the same settings, a 1080ti is a good investment if youre a gamer.
The fact people think in 2 years this will sell for £200 have no idea... my 970 can fetch £150-200! People who comment on the price moaning have no idea about PC hardware, but i can agree the prices are silly, most people can get by with a 1070 but when you are in to games and want the most of them this is the card to go for.

Once in the basket same price as before with shipping at €744.68.
If anyone wonders why the price of Amazon.it items goes down once in the basket, it's due to the VAT difference, Italy pay 22% VAT, and that is included in the price advertised, once you put it in the basket and select a UK shipping address it charges the VAT at UK rate of 20%, causing the price to drop to the €737.70.
