Have a look at the Coolermaster H500P its out soon and due for review on Oct 10th retails for around £150

It is great deal,pre-order, I think the price will go up when it is in stock, going to order one, but also thinking about corsair 115i , antec only have three years warranty but corsair has five any advice? Thank

beaware Unless you are buying for the looks, a £40 air cooler Cryorig H7 will match this performance, and similar priced air cooler offer better performance

I doubt an air cooler priced around the same as this is going to offer better performance, especially when overclocking.
I'm open to being wrong though, so feel free to reply with some facts to back that statement up.
The cryorig H7 also takes up a lot of space within a case and can cause problems with RAM sticks that have big heatspreaders.

Some of the larger air coolers in the right case can be equally as good IMO. Most of it is around air flow in the case though, which obviously you don't have to worry about *as* much with a cooler like this, plus this one isn't as invasive on the motherboard. Downside of the air cooler is size as I lost a RAM slot!
I have some large Thermaltake Frio Advanced thing on one build and even when I overclocked my old i5 to just over 4ghz it was running nice and cool when gaming.

Thing is most games don't push the CPU that hard, it's more about the graphics card generally (always exceptions of course). Stick Prime95 on and watch the temps (probably) go through the roof :laughing: Not a natural load but gives an idea of what your temps could get to in absolute worst case scenario...

Aye, it depends on use case. There's obviously no point in buying an AIO liquid cooler if your CPU is never having to work that hard.

What you are referring to is the kitguru review of the Antec Mercury 240 using an i7 @4.0GhHz . If you look at the updated graphs for [email protected] it performs better than the Cryorig H7. It still doesn't make it that much better. kitguru.net/com…/1/
Regardless, the review talks about the 240 (dual fan) version and not the 360(triple fan) which is the one in the deal. Now if the review of the 360 that i found is reliable, the 360 isn't that bad.

Heated, excellent price for a 360mm AIO! I've provisionally ordered it, but I'm not actually sure I have a case that will accommodate it, not to mention I have a locked i7 3770 and a motherboard that has zero overclocking options so it's hardly going to be breaking a sweat cooling that.
Still I'd like to upgrade next year, so it would be a nice cooler to pair with a unlocked CPU for some good overclocking. Don't really want to change my case though as I just got it a few months ago. Does anyone know if one of these coolers will fit anywhere on this case: amazon.co.uk/gp/…9PS

Yep, put it in a non windowed case or put the case on the other side of the desk or on the floor where you wouldn't normally see it. Surely the point of a windowed case is seeing all the lights and things?

Lol, If you take a look at the video reveiws it actually pulses constantly, instead of being on constantly. This may get annoying to some users (like me!)

Ah, I see. If its only the light on the top of the pump that does that you might be able to put some tape over it or something if it doesn't heat up too much, couldn't really do that with the fans though.
Not ideal but for this price probably worth a little inconvenience, providing Amazon restock it of course....
