Interesting. They actually overtly advertise it as Bassa and not hide it as 'fish'.

They are banking on people not having a clue what it is. For those of us that do, it saves having to even pick the pack up let alone turning it over and read the ingredients!
Got to give them credit for the nerve though, dress up the foulest muck there is in a fancy box & call it "Gastro! " - Hidden in open view: the fish for people who don't much care for the taste of fish and care less about what they ingest.

Have to agree these Basa 'fillets' aren't up to much and definitely no "Gastro" involved - though with this HUKD tip at 80p/fillet rather than £2/fillet you'd feel less conned. DEFINITELY do not OVERCOOK these - quickly become cardboard!

Holders of a free myWaitrose card can "pick you own" up to 10 items from a restricted range of the products they sell, as your favourites and get an automatic 20% off the Shelf Edge Price deducted from that bill when buying them.
You're also allowed to make changes to your 10 picks, but only a limited number of times per time period. Have to say choosing the 10 in the first place is one of the least pleasant bits of using the Waitrose website, though they have tarted up the site recently and maybe it's less of a drag.
Once you have picked 10, the best way to keep on top of them I find is their (Android) Waitrose Pick Your Own App - if only to recall what 10 you currently have picked!
Note the biggest benefit of PYO comes about when PYO items are included in some multi-buy offer as the 20% off is given from the SEL item price, not any net-multi-buy price. eg actual example currently Pastrami £2.25/item but offer of 2 for £4 and you buy 2 then you get £2.25 x 20% twice ie 90p off the bill, as well as the multi-buy 50p off, ie net £3.10 (rather than £4 with 20% off ie £3.20).
