Althought I'm aware that the amazon reviews likely spew forth from the fake-net, this dash cam is widely highly rated as a budget dash cam with Wi-Fi, and although it has a battery and not a 'superior' capacitor, this isn't likely to make a huge difference in the UK (temperature-wise). 1080P with 60fps.
The downside for me is that it's not black, so not exactly discrete, but I'm sure a Sharpie or some gothic nail polish could sort it with ease!

I can can confirm that this is a very very good Dash Cam!
I have two and have never had any issues. Build quality and software is excellent and the app is also great.

Yep, that looks to be a great cam too, but I'd rather have amazon's no quibble returns policy (and ability to pay without issue :P ).

This one is better. The Xiaomi had a good sensor but a poor processor. This has a different but similar quality sensor but paired with a much better processor. Better processors allow for higher bit rates and lower compression which provides better image quality.
Three issues with this camera - the mount wobbles, the camera goes out of focus when the lens gets hot in summer, and it's pretty large and obvious when mounted in your windscreen.
If you are happy to remove it whenever you park that eliminates two problems and im sure some shims will reduce the wobble.

Interested to know what these dashcams are used for. I can see why Traffic Police and emergency services would use them because of the situations they are involved in on a daily basis but not so much for the average Joe public ? I'm guessing the demographic is mainly city drivers with high insurance costs that have them for visual proof in the event of an accident that wasn't their fault ?

I guess you're right and I've probably been a little immunised from worrying about it too much by always having protected no claims bonus insurance and (fortunately) few accidents in my decades of driving so I never really saw it as a big problem.

I've one friend who had a car cut in front of him on a motorway exit slip and slam its brakes on, giving no chance to stop in time. Two weeks later the driver, who hadn't had any passengers at the time, remembered there had been two other people in the car. All three had terrible whiplash.
£38 to guard against that? Bargain.

Any camera that you can hide it behind rear mirror? ( rear mirror shape )..+ on off senzor incase somebody hits your car over night etc...so with built in battery
