Installed it today. All went well and working as it should.

Well, went for it! Thanks for the info everyone. Except those who talked about the server stopping - I don’t like the sound of that!
Surely, he says with only a little bit of knowledge, if the box connects to my router, the app connect directly like my NAS and Hue lights, don’t they?! Why the server?

You need the server for when you use the app when your out and about. The box connects to yales server, I suspect continuously. It’s like these home cctv cameras. You don’t tend to connect directly to the camera but through the cameras suppliers server then to the camera.

Does the control box have back up power supply or sim card function?

Been looking at these for a while for the garage. Best price so far. Bought! Had the telecommunications one on the house for years! Works like a dream. Great kit!

I've got one of these, easy enough to install and operate with the app.
I'm very happy with the alarm
The app does everything I require of it, so no worries there.
At this price it's a steal (excuse the pun).
Buy it I'm sure that you won't be disappointed.

Fyi. Yale advised me that the server contract has been renewed until 2025

Yep that’s the comment I read about the server. It needs clarifying though as they can’t risk the whole remote function being disabled by the server failing. That’s the main selling point of the alarm.

Isn’t there something about their server which controls the remote function going unsupported next year?

Is that right?

Absolutely is chaps. From the Yale website:
"Yale offers no guarantee on the availability of our server. Yale aims to maintain a server until 2018"
Also - Anyone else worry about the ease of jamming these things? Doesn't seem too complex, although I guess they work as a deterrent more than anything else.

I installed mine and from day one the master box kept making a bleeping noise every couple of minutes. I ended up turning the the box completely off :-/

Most of the Amazon reviews say it is rubbish due to the app being crap, everyone I've spoken to who has one says it works perfectly. Why would they lie to me.
Very inexpensive for this kind of alarm if it works.

Been looking at these. Heat - Good price, but average reviews. Anyone got one?

I've got this. I paid £250 from safe.co.uk a few months ago.
Easy to set up, the remote monitoring and alerts work really well. I've had a contractor go in today to do some work; rather than give him the alarm code, he called me before and after the job and I disarmed/armed it remotely for him. I added an additional two PIR's and another door sensor to the kit to cover additional zones. For the money, it's a bargain.

Fitted one of the wireless telecommunications ones for my parents few years ago. Works flawlessly, v impressed
Changing the batteries every 2 or so years in the external siren is a bit of a nuisance though.
