I ordered this a few weeks ago and it's been dispatched, arriving on wednesday. I'm building a ryzen5 1600 with either a rx580 or a gtx1060 (still deciding and waiting for the preorders on the rx580). Is this price worth it for the memory or should I wait for black friday ?(I'm probably building the pc in december, not earlier than that).

I'm in exactly the same boat. Same build. I'm taking the plunge, as it's the only set of ram at a semi decent price. Checking the price trends and a few reports it doesn't seem ram.prices are going to slow over the next few months. Only small issue is the manual for the Asus prime b350 I'm using, states that MB doesn't seem to support 2800 so I have went for the 2400, both sets are out of stock though

My B350 only supports 2400, but I got 2 of these (4gb, 2800) and they work great at 2400. well happy with em. They were out of stock when I ordered them but they came in about a week, maybe I was just lucky. Good buy I reckon, my two 4gb ones cost £51 on sale.

Eh? Just OC the multiplier on top of using the 2400 strap.
With regards to compatibility with Ryzen, personally I'd only ever recommend using 2 sticks ideally of single ranked DIMMs.
More sticks = more stress on the IMC of your CPU which in terms threatens stability of your OC if you're pushing your system.
4x4 of this type will run OK at 2400 but if you're hoping for 3000ish with looser timings you'll not get close.
Get 2x 3200 sticks (G.Skill ideally) and you'll be able to get 3200-3466mhz quite easily.

I'm using the 3000mhz version (2x16gb) of these in my new Ryzen build. they work perfectly at 2400 but get random blue screens at 2933mhz. Overall I recommend them.

I've already purchased 16Gb of 2400mhz RAM for an upcoming Ryzen build. Is there a significant speed improvement in bumping up to 2800Mhz memory?

Ryzen does seem to benifit from faster ram with 3200mhz being the sweet spot
