Its a bluetooth to FM transmitter for music as well as a USB charger. Read the features list completely posted above for details.

Seen that and wandered what is the Bluetooth doing, transferring to FM and from where to what ?

so you play a song on your phone. and then via bluetooth its transmitted to the charger which emits it as fm signal. So then you open that radio station on the car stereo and then you have your music playing.
Basically, you only appreciate an aux cable port until you have a car without one.

And cars next to you can listen whatever you are playing, on their radio with same frequency..

aptX? Doesn't look like it from specs

It transmits via FM, so it won't be aptx.

Anyone know what new features or improvements this has, apart from the change in design, from the first version?

I have the older white version. Solidly built and still going strong. Well worth it.

Same, but annoyingly the iOS app has given up on it, used to connect as soon as I got in car, now I have to connect manually. Shame as it looks like the build quality has dropped a bit for the new ones

Beware of compatibility issues - I bought the Roidmi (m.gearbest.com/car…tml) the last time it was offer and it wasn't compatible with my car's lighter socket - it didn't fit in the port. Trying to figure out if it's more economical to sell or bin it....

If your car doesn't have bluetooth or an aux-in socket, this will allow you to stream music from your phone to the car stereo via bluetooth. Your phone sends music to this device via bluetooth, and the device then re-transmits it on an FM radio frequency which can be picked up by your car radio (until you drive past a radio station transmitting on the same frequency when you'll get horrible interference).
It should work for any sound from your phone, of course, not just music. Will work for phone calls but will use the phone microphone, probably making you sound like you're shouting in a biscuit tin.

So how do you adjust the FM frequency because looking at the pictures there are no buttons?

You adjust your radio frequency on your car radio.

He means how do you set it on the Xiaomi ROIDMI - as I am wondering the same and can't see any buttons. Obviously you set it on your own radio but it's not just 'a random frequency between 87.5-108Mhz'.

I have 2 of these and they are, without any doubt, the ONLY FM transmitters worth buying. The sound is CD quality and they were a revelation....to the point I got rid of my touchscreen Head Units...I cannot recommend these enough and the build quality is superb.

Thanks for the comment, this gives me confidence to give FM transmitters a second chance.
A friend’s old Griffin 30-pin iPod transmitter sounded perfect in his car, I bought a modern one and it was pants and fuzzy.

You need Roidmi Life app on your phone to connect and control the frequency. It will also show car battery voltage and its health. Been using it for a while and I can say it's a useful piece of kit but.. It's loosing connection from time to time (see video above with aluminium foil trick), if you live in big city it's hard to find a good frequency without interference and when you go for a longer trip a 'good frequency' may not be so good 10 miles away.

Anyone got one of these new 3s ones and been able to compare to the older ones? My older one suffers a lot from interference, as though its not putting out quite a strong enough fm frequency

Ordered mine - one less reason to change from my vintage car. Charged me £8.15 and still a bargain from what I have seen.
