Found this code here.

I think this is the best price I've seen for the ceramic version. I've got the standard Mi 6 128gb and it's the best phone I've ever owned, by some way (and I get through phones on average every couple of months)

Specs below.

Main Features:
Splash resistance on Mi 6 only supports temporary and limited amounts of water exposure. Mi 6 does not support prolonged submersion in water. Mi 6 is not IP67 certified and liquid damage is not covered under warranty. Do not soak or attempt to use Mi 6 underwater. In addition, splash resistance on Mi 6 may be reduced over time with wear and tear. Do not charge Mi 6 under wet conditions.

So much complaining about no B20 on every single Chinese phone deal. Don't buy the phone if your network relies on B20, stop whining.

I do think the OP or at least fellow HUKDer should mention the lack of band 20, so I actually appreciate it when someone mentions it. I want the phone to have the basics. Should I go abroad I want the phone to be able to roam onto any network bands it can get ahold of. it's always worth mentioning.
Sc0tchland to Niz
25 Sep 17 #10
I hope you're not suggesting that the lack of Band 20 for the UK market is a deciding factor on you roaming in foreign coutnries...
Niz to Sc0tchland
25 Sep 17 #16
Yes I am suggesting it. Band 20 is the most important even in the UK so its a easy argument right there. However the reason why its worth mentioning for roaming is that you can roam on any network, the last thing you want is to be stuck somewhere with a phone that doesn't support a band so your phone refuses to pull any data. It's really not worth it IMO and I rarely travel.
noirnaranja to Niz
25 Sep 17 #17
Not looking to get into a slanging match here but I think your comment is bizarre. Unless I've misunderstood things massively, band 20 is only a 4g band. And I'm not an expert but I don't think anywhere is 4g-only? Maybe somewhere like South Korea perhaps.
So it's unlikely/not going to happen that you'd be stuck without data wherever you travel?

To me the chance to own a flagship grade phone for £200 less than a similarly specced UK device more than makes up for the (at most) minor inconvenience of occasionally having to wait an extra 2 seconds for a website to load :joy:
Niz to noirnaranja
25 Sep 17 #18
I kid you not went to germany last week. I was manually selecting between networks, some only showed 4G, I admit I did not get a situation of that being the only signal BUT I did have situations where the 4G worked but the 3G did not (for data). I would get signal where as the people I were with had nothing (referring to data), to be fair it was down to my manual intervention.

That said I get your point, its a trade up. Glad we could argue without getting dirty :imp:

Band 20 is important. Nearly everywhere is 4g. O2/voda coverage is bad enough without knocking out the highest speeds. If your going to be forever on ee and three it won't be a problem however I like options. That's not why I'm voting this cold though. The redmi note 4 is top of the list as far as value. I'm not sure if the extra cost here makes this good value at all. What if you get a china clone, 300 plus is a lot of money to chuck away. Too risky and too dear cold from me
Sc0tchland to pengwyn

You're factualy incorrect on Band 20 for Vodafone, and your coverage versus highest speeds argument doesn't add up either.
pengwyn to Sc0tchland
27 Sep 17 #42
Vodafone where 80% for years 4g coverage until they where forced by ofcom to put in the extra mast upgrades and are therefore miles behind EE three in speed of 4g you are the one who is incorrect voda/O2 use 800mhz which is band 20. I love these people who say you are incorrect without saying why. Get some clue before posting next time

Places like CEX sometimes get stuff like this, but apart from that you're going to be out of luck.

Cex will only sell it you don't like the phone and sell it to them dirt cheap. They won't go to China to get the phone for you .

26 Sep 17 #39
Erm, what? I'm aware that they won't go to China. Who said they would? My local CEX has had half a dozen or so xiaomi handsets in stock over the last few months, although I don't know what they paid for them. I don't really understand your post.

sam_of_london to octopus

They made it for the Chinese/Indian market ,not European market where B20 is the best 4G band .
badboyofrock to sam_of_london
26 Sep 17 #28
Best 4g band? Come on, Sam. How is it the best 4g band? Maybe if you live out in the sticks or in a highly built up area, but if you don't and you want speed, it's not the best. Pint?
sam_of_london to badboyofrock
26 Sep 17 #37
Lower bands 800mhz are better for the mobile signal as signal travels further. That is why it was so expensive to buy for the networks. In America they are using 600mhz and 700mhz 4g bands for same reason.
badboyofrock to sam_of_london
26 Sep 17 #38
I know it goes further, that's why I said if you live in the sticks. It also penetrates buildings, that's why I mentioned built up areas. But, it is also the slowest which is why I mentioned speed.

Also forgot to say I've used gearbest and eglobal to import goods and if you do have any problems which can happen I have found both companies easy to communicate with and get things sorted, that's just my experience, also know others have had bigger problems but hey if you're saving £200 it might be worth the risk

Thanks for the deal that's a really good price I already have the MI6 ceramic and its amazing phone I haven't had any problems in the UK and it works on 3, don't forget it's dual SIM so you can put one for calls and one for data if you really that worried about not having band 20

I have Mi5 after owning various 'flagship' devices from HTC, Samsung and so on (I also owned a oneplus 2) I have to say the xiaomi fo build quality, speed and general use is far superior to any I have had. I was dubious about spending the £200 that the mi5 was at the time but dont regret it one bit now an would never turn back to one of the bigger name brands again.

Between me and my partner we had Htc 7, 8, 9 and she now has 10, each and everyone had to go back under warranty at least once. I had a samsung S6 edge where the screen failed and a S7 where the same happened, to whih I sent it to samsung (s7) and they were receiving that many back they no longer had parts for it (3 month old phone) and so I had to wait weeks for a repair.

The uk companies are as bad or worse when it comes to warranties, the flagship devices are terrible nowadays. Which I feel address's my first point. My next point is does anyone who goes on about band 20 actually read up on what it means..? Unless you are on o2 or network running on their backbone then you are not restricted to just band 20 fo 4G, and to be fair if you are then you are gettin a bad 4G deal with only being able to use a substandard band, most providers will use multiple bands for 4G to give better coverage and some do not use band 20 at all. Band 20 travels furter so yes rural areas you will receive coverage where others may not but that is the only benefit. So yes it excludes networks that soley use this band, but as I said previous if you are with a provider that is charging you for 4G service and only giving you aa substandard service (band 20 cant handle large amounts of data from lots of users at once) then I would address that issue first.

Im an owner of a oneplus X with no B20 from a few years back. So yeh i can see the value in grey exports when it works. but then i paid £170 which for the spec was fantastic. £340 just seems a lot for the trade offs. each to their own though.
noirnaranja to Sagacity
25 Sep 17 #7
I think it would be fair to say tho that the OPX was an upper mid range phone and the Mi 6 is definitely flagship grade.

I do totally understand people would be reluctant to part with such a lot of cash for a device from China but the savings are there if you're prepared to 'risk' it. And not really sure how much of a risk it actually is these days.
I've had at least 10 phones from China in the past 3 years and only once, in the very early days, did I have any cause for complaint.

Admittedly there are HUKD members who have horror stories to share but I can't help think that they are a tiny minority of members who haven't had any problems.

Just wondering did you get your oneplus x direct from oneplus as I am currently using a oneplus x bought direct from oneplus just after release it has band 20 and was only £199 at the time

I think you should include the Samaritans phone number when posting these devices . I just don't think i can go on without band 20 ,people will talk about me behind my back ,nudging each other and sniggering . Apart from O2 and its mvno s , which other networks are restricted to ONLY band 20. And it's not as if the phones won't work at all , is it ?? And not everyone has a 4g contract anyway -but those that don't had better give themselves a good talking too...disgrace!

Hi Sam, thanks for your input. I've not been posting deals for long but have been lurking for a while and can see that this seems to be a particular bugbear of yours.

While I understand your concerns about a lack of Band 20, and wish that all phones would have 800MHz, having owned many non-band 20 phones myself I can honestly say that it's never made a discernible difference to me.

Please bear in mind that for most people the phone is their personal Swiss army knife. Phone, mobile Internet terminal, media player, camera etc. The fact that O2 customers won't be able to get 4g data isn't the be all and end all. Annoying, but not much more. Even then, it's not like they cannot use mobile Internet, just not at 4g speeds.
dreadzone101 to noirnaranja

Unfortunately you're wasting your effort speaking about your own experience with non B20 phones since Sam will continue to disregard these kinds of comments in favour of his subjective opinion: hotukdeals.com/com…807
He has lied to other members many times in the past by saying lack of B20 means it will be a mini tablet and won't work as a phone in UK. He cannot fathom the idea that other people may not require B20 or find no issue lacking it:

"I've got the standard Mi 6 128gb and it's the best phone I've ever owned, by some way (and I get through phones on average every couple of months)"

My view on this would be that you are not choosing particularly good phones if having to change every couple of months, so the Mi 6 being the best one you have ever had isn't that big an accolade?

Grey import / No Band 20 / 1080p screen (not that its an issue just for the spec). I mean yes nice spec CPU etc but the negatives here don't really add up to me for the money. Maybe i'm missing something?
