Was thinking of getting my son an Xbox One (or PS4) for Xmas. He has my old Xbox 360 now and mainly plays FIFA and a couple of other games (Skylanders etc). He asked for FIFA 18 already.

Just wondering if we should jump on something like this now or would we be better off waiting for Black Friday.

I have two boys so both will more than likely play and that Extra Controller might come in handy.

Great price. Just a shame that Xbox exclusives, what few there are, are a bit crap compared to what is available on PS. I'll keep mine for the 4k drive, ea access and gold, but pretty much every game worth playing is better on PC anyway.

But for reals, this one's better for someone who actually wants Fifa 18, will play Ultimate Team and ultimately (excuse the pun) buy packs. The CR edition is about £70 on it it's own, but worth more like £90 to someone who will be buying some packs anyway.

Your comment is direct but I completely agree with you. I had to sell my One S for these reasons and I will probably only buy one again when I get a 4K TV for the extremely cheap player (if PS5 doesn’t have one).

I phoned some local stores, they confirmed the deal but Friday and not Ronaldo edition.

yeah but need to pay for PlayStation too now,and it's more expensive than xbox. also xbox has been proven to be a better online experience than that of ps. I own both consoles,but hardly ever look at the ps4 to be honest,only kept it now for the ps exclusives.

I got this deal in-store a few hours ago. I took the console but had to pick up the game tomorrow (or after midnight) it was the Ronaldo edition aswell.

All this arguing over consoles. For me, it all comes down to what my friends have. One console can be ten times better than the other, but if all your friends have the opposite console then you can't play with them online.

Personally I have a PS4 because it's the better console and all the people I play online with have PS4s. However, I'm considering a One S or One X just for Forza and Crackdown 3. The PS4 has no racing games as good as Forza, IMO.

All this saying Xbox is better online is rubbish. I can't remember the last time I had an issue with my PS4 online. Maybe a few years back there were differences, but not now.

Tempted to upgrade my existing Xbox one for this but as lazy as it sounds I've got used to digital versions of games and not bothering with the disk. Ok so you don't get anything back for FIFA but unless you sell it in January/February you won't get much more than a tenner anyway

Cant sell standard edition until Friday, only had Ronaldo edition for preorders

I traded in my old Xbox got 110 for it and had to pay 139 for it all.

Extra controller was 39,99 when brought with a console, considering the ronaldo edition is over 70 quid, I feel for another 70 odd quid making 140, for a new Xbox and 3 other games plus extra controller your laughing

Think it's more a case the staff haven't been informed, they have the consoles because there's other offers out with the same console & they have the FIFA 18 games, the lad who served me was told about it off another member of staff because I'd asked then went to scan the two and saw the now TV was included & a papa johns discount code to which he said 'oh good deal, I didn't know anything about it' So maybe get them to scan for the offer to show?

Is anyone actually going to buy a Xbox one X? I mean they don't have the games as it is, not a Xbox hater but what will Xbox one X achieve? A more powerful box with nothing to play apart from like four exclusives. Might get a switch, least it's different with quality exclusives even if Nintendo are a bunch of stubborn goats

Huh? I have both, but honestly, it's the Xbox updates and installs that take up your time. If you come home with a new game and want to just pop it in and play then you're sh*t out of luck - you'll have a long wait ahead with the mandatory installs and updates. The GUI is also an absolute clusterf*ck. 360 used to be great, but it's an ad-filled mess now. PS4 has the opposite problem - it's completely bare and unimaginative, but is more functional at least.

Anyway, both have their pros and cons including some great exclusives but, ultimately, PC MasterRace is the way forward. It used to be that PCs were the pain in the ass, but they're now easier to use than ever, more powerful than ever and backwards compatible FOREVER (not to mention the endless emulation possibilities).

Picked up in Dundee about an hour ago. Wasn't mentioned anywhere on the promotional screen but just showed them the link. Staff the flicked through a few A4 print offs and it was at the back of them and sorted it out.

Said there was about 6 of the console left but only a few Fifa Ronaldo editions left.

Your opinion is fine but the way you posted was as if it was fact and was not needed at all. Those with big/normal sized hands :wink: will prefer the Xbox. The PS4 controller just gives me cramps, its too think and isnt made for the shape of your hand. They just made it wider to cater to bigger hand but its still not that great.

I have big hands, infact I wear XXL 12lb gloves at boxing. Maybe I'm just use to the PS4 controller but the Xbox one is awful to me, feels cheap, bad design, not rechargeable and overall crap.

You do realsie the materails actually are better whereas the percentage of the PS4 controller is plastic. Literally look at your PS4 controller and you can see for yourself its just plastic. Either way i disagree on all fronts, the design is perfect as it wraps perfectly to the shape of your hands. Ivee never know anyone with big hands be able to hold the PS4 controller and not feel cramped.
