I don't think it comes with an *extra* controller on the Tesco deal, just a controller. So similar offer to this except the Xbox live is for 3 months with Tesco, as opposed to 14 days with this.

It does come with an extra controller. One with the Xbox and then another extra one that you can choose - black or white.

I really don't think so, as the X is aimed at the top end of the market and the S is going to be around for the mainstream for a long time yet, as they will be selling both models side by side.

It's still not hard to imagine they're trying to shift as many as they can before then. They're going to be marketing the X as "the world's most powerful console." That means the S will obviously be weaker, and therefore a less attractive proposition.

The last two words of that sentence ("before then") were key! So before the X launches.
The launch is going to leave them in a very strange position. As you say, that new machine is for the top 10% at best - they aren't even going to sell that many. Not even close. But it's going to be a very high priced console and then at the other end, you have the S which is still leagues behind the PS4 and will almost certainly stay that way.

i suspect it wil lbe the same deal as with the ps4 pro and vanilla ps4....... room in the market for both (esp when you look at the prices of the core console... its practically £100 now if you consider the games bundles)
no way MS will pull the xbox1 S.... the X is way to expensive to be mainstream any time soon. (smashing piece of kit tho)

I like how they are offering the "Xbox 60 Day Guarantee" as I picked mine up from Tesco yesterday and it's making the most incredibly annoying humming/buzzing sound from the fan. Apparently a common problem, but not one I am willing to put up with - can hear it over low music and that's with surround sound! Apparently pot luck if you get one like this or not. Sending it back.

I bought an Xbox One S model bundled with Gears 4 that also had the annoying buzz noise from the fan. Like you said its audible even over low music. You don't think all these bundles are the ones with this cheap faulty fans they are trying to offload? I heard the Fifa 17 bundles were prone to having buzzing fans too. Is it coincidence? Mmmmm.

My understanding is that the S will become the base model anyway. They have stopped producing the Xbox One (none S / X version) in the US.

did you get the game from microsoft? i had this issue where they never sent halo wars 2, i called up and the gentleman offered to send me one out or if i prefered i could get a code (great as i game share with my son) i said id like the code then cheekily asked if he could give me the ultimate edition he said np happy days :smile: however i had to purchase it and they instantly refunded me dont ask me why it had to be done this way.

Ok so at the time I ordered, the description said 3 free games and it listed Destiny 2, Gears of War 4 and Halo Wars 2. My order confirmation from Microsoft says 3 free games. Yet the dispatch e-mail says 2 free games and only shows Destiny 2 and Gears of War 4. Lets see what happens.
I'll be contacting Microsoft if I don't get my 3 free games! (excluding Forza+Addon).
